Lot 165.  Babe Ruth 1933 R338 Goudey Sport Kings #2 Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. With strong colors and a horizontal crease more obvious on the back than the front, the card looks better than the grade suggests.

Lot 171.  5 High-Grade PSA-Graded 1973 Topps: Aaron, Clemente, Mays, Ryan and Seaver. All of these cards are nm or better: #50 Clemente NM 7, 100 Aaron NM-MT 8, 220 Ryan NM 7, 305 Mays NM 7 and 350 Seaver MINT 9 (OC). The Seaver card is centered about 70:30 top-to-bottom and 35:65 left-to-right.

Lot 172.  6 1979 UPI Sports Nostalgia Photo Cards PSA-Graded EX 5 or Better – Ruth, Gehrig, Etc. These six cards are from a subset of 9 cards that are 2.75” x 5” and have a 2” x 2.25” clear vinyl record on the back. The photos are black & white. The subjects of the cards and their PSA grades are: Joe DiMaggio’s hitting streak, EX 5. Lou Gehrig Day 7/4/39, EX 5. Stan Musial 3,000th hit, EX 5. Babe Ruth called shot, EX-MT 6. Bobby Thomson “Shot Heard ‘Round the World,” EX 5. And Ted Williams’ last at-bat, EX 5.

Lot 173.  5 Ken Griffey Jr. Cards PSA-Graded Mint 9 – 4 Rookies Plus an Autographed Card. The signed card is 1991 Upper Deck Final Edition #87F, which PSA graded MINT 9, and PSA-DNA certified. The rookies, all strong examples, are 1989 Bowman #220, 1989 Donruss The Rookies #3, 1989 Fleer #548 and 1989 Upper Deck #1. Kevin Keating also authenticated the autograph.

Lot 174.  PSA-Graded Bat, Jersey or Autograph Cards: Campanella, Hodges, Podres, Robinson, Reese. Four of these stars constitute four-fifths of the infield for the 1955 World Champion Brooklyn Dodgers. Podres, of course, was the team’s pitching hero. The Campanella and Reese cards are 2001 Upper Deck Hall of Famers Cooperstown Collection issues. PSA graded both NM-MT 8. The Campanella card, B-RCa, features a game-used bat section, and the Reese card, J-PW, a game-used jersey section. Hodges is the subject of a 2006 Upper Deck Epic Materials–Green game-used bat card, EM-GH, that PSA graded Gem Mint 10. THE CARD IS #5 OF ONLY 50. Jackie Robinson is the focus of another limited-edition card, LM-JR, from Upper Deck’s 2004 Legendary Materials product. The PSA NM-MT 8 card includes a game-used jersey patch. In 2005, Topps issued Team Topps card #TT-JP, which features a Podres autograph. PSA graded the card NM-MT+ 8.5 and certified the autograph. Kevin Keating also authenticated the autograph. A high-quality group featuring stars of the Dodgers’ 1955 championship season!

Lot 175.  Babe Ruth 2002 Fleer Fall Classics Series of Champions Bat Card PSA-Graded NM 7. Identified as SOC-BR, the card is #92 of only 100 that Topps produced. It contains a section of a bat game-used by baseball’s greatest player.

Lot 176.  Nolan Ryan 2002 Topps Archives Reserve Jersey Card PSA-Graded MINT 9. Terrific “Best Years” card reproducing Ryan’s 1973 Topps card and containing a game-worn jersey patch. The card is identified as TRR-NR.

Lot 177.  Mickey Mantle 2002 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Card PSA-Graded NM-MT+ 8.5. This Ultimate Game Swatches card, identified as JR-MM, contains a section of pants game-worn by Mantle. It is 91 of 199 produced.

Lot 178.  Babe Ruth 2004 Topps Tribute Hall of Fame Relics Card Graded MINT 9 by PSA. The card, #TR-BR, pays tribute to Ruth for his 1936 Hall of Fame induction. It contains a section of game-used bat.

Lot 179.  3 PSA-Graded Topps Bat Cards – Mantle, Mays and Snider. Three cards, each containing a section of bat game-used by one of these Hall of Fame 1950s center fielders. In 2004, Topps issued the Willie Mays card, SSR-WM from the Series Stitches subset, and the Duke Snider card, DS from the Clubhouse Relics-Copper issue, number 14 of only 99. Each earned a PSA grade of MINT 9. The Mickey Mantle card, PSA-graded NM-MT 8, is MR2002 from Topps’ 2006 Collection Relics-Bat subset and is #26 of 137 issued. These cards constitute an outstanding representation of what are generally regarded as the three best center fielders of the 1950s and three of the top six or seven all-time.
