Lot 284.  Topps “You’ll Die Laughing” Partial Sets for 1959 (34 of 66) and 1973 (60 of 128). The earlier set is known also as “Funny Monsters”; the fronts of these cards are in color. The 1973 set is black & white. Card numbers are available upon request. The cards in the 1959 set grade: Vg-ex: 23 cards. Vg: 7. G-vg: 2. G: 2. For the 1973 set, 24 cards are from the first series, and 36 from the second. The grades of these cards are: Ex-m+: 1 card. Ex-m: 14. Ex+: 13. Ex: 19. Vg-ex: 10. Vg: 3. Lot 285.  1965 A. & B.C. Gum-Topps “Civil War News” Partial Set – 53 of 88. This is the English version of the popular set, which Topps issued in 1962. The artwork is the same, but the cards are a bit smaller at 2 ¼”x 3 ¼”. The cards grade Ex+: 1 card. Ex: 4. Vg-ex: 13. Vg: 15. G-vg: 5. G: 9. F-g: 4. F: 2.

Lot 286.  1965 Fleer “McHale’s Navy” Set of 66 Cards. Starring Ernest Borgnine, Tim Conway and Joe Flynn, this ABC series debuted in 1962 and ended in 1966. Nm set.

Lot 287.  39 Different 1966 A. & B.C. Gum-Topps “Batman” Cards from 4 Sets. The English gum company issued 2 ¼” x 3 ¼” cards featuring Topps’ artwork. The sets parallel the Topps’ versions, except that A. & B.C. produced the black bat-orange back set of 55 with and without a panel promoting a Batman Fan Club. In addition, the British backs seem to be a color that is slightly orange and slightly pink. Twenty-seven cards offered here are from the black bat series; only one has the Fan Club panel, #15. The cards without the panel are #2, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 16, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 39, 41, 42, 44, 46, 48, 49 and 50. Another eight cards are from the red bat “A” set of 44: #6A, 10A, 12A, 24A, 25A, 27A, 43A and 44A. Finally, there are four cards from the blue bat “B” series, all with puzzle backs: #2B, 5B, 39B and 41B. These cards grade Nm: 1 card. Ex-m+: 6. Ex-m: 9. Ex+: 7. Ex: 6. Vg-ex: 5. Vg: 3. G-vg: 1. G: 1.
