Lot 216. Autograph of NASCAR Chairman Bill France (Jr.) on the June 1997 Issue of “Racer.” A charter member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, France headed the racing organization 1972-2000. Under his leadership, NASCAR made the transition from a regional sport in the South to a national sport. The France family owns NASCAR. His autograph is mint 9 to gem mint 10, and the magazine, ex-m. France was 74 when he passed away in 2007. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 217. Davey Allison Autograph and Image on the Cover of the 1993 Daytona 500 Program. Allison was only 32 when he died from injuries sustained in July 1993 while he tried to land his newly acquired helicopter at Talladega Superspeedway. Allison won at Daytona in 1992, and the program cover shows him being presented the winner’s trophy. His signature is a 10 on the nm-m program. During his relatively brief career, Allison won 19 races; he finished in the top five 66 times and in the top 10, 92 times. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
