Lot 233.  1975 UPI Wire Photo of Cleveland Rookie Manager Frank Robinson. In 1975, Robinson became the first African-American manager in the majors. The July 7 wire photo shows him arguing with umpire Larry Barnett, who called a ball on a half-swing by Oakland’s Reggie Jackson. Barnett tossed Robinson out of the game. The 9” x 8” photo is accompanied by the caption. This photo, transmitted to a newspaper, is ex.

Lot 238.  Indians Scorecards, 1941-45, 1947 and 1948, Doby Images, a 1956 Yearbook, Etc. Fifteen Cleveland Indians publications. The 1956 yearbook is vg. Bob Feller autographed his photo inside; Kevin Keating authenticated the signature. The scorecards are for 1941 vs. Washington, scored, ex. 1947 vs. the St. Louis Browns, partially scored, Feller pitched, Doby pictured as the A.L.’s first black player, vg. 1948 vs. Boston, scored, vg+ to ex, Ted Williams in the pre-printed lineup, Larry Doby pictured (full page) and penciled in as a pinch hitter. 1950 vs. Detroit, scored, ex. 1951 vs. Washington, Easter, Rosen, Doby and Wynn pictured, ex-m+. 1952 vs. St. Louis, ex. 1955 vs. Washington, ex. 1960 vs. Boston, two different, both scored, ex. 1966 vs. Boston, Colavito pictured, ex+. 1967 vs. New York, scored, ex. 1979 vs. Texas, ex. 1982 vs. Chicago, vg+ to ex. 1995, ALCS vs. Seattle, vg+ to ex. Also, a 1981 Indians Cactus League program, ex, signed by two Seattle Mariners, Frank Funk and West Stock.

Lot 248.  Aug. 28, 1945 Cleveland at Chicago Scorecard. Unscored, box score and the teams’ batting averages added inside, along with two rain checks for the night game, tape along the spine and a tape repair of one of two tears on the back, a small “49” on the front cover.

Lot 252.  1958 Cleveland at Washington Program. Unscored, vertical fold, vg-ex, 28 pages, Roy Sievers, Eddie Yost, Nellie Fox, Camilo Pascual, President Eisenhower and others pictured.

Lot 271.  Andre Thornton Mid-1980s Game-Used K75 Louisville Slugger 37” Bat. Thornton’s uniform number, 29, is on the knob, along with “K75.” The bat has a cracked handle, which appears to have undergone a minor repair, and shows good game use. Thornton was a two-time All-Star first baseman-designated hitter who batted .254 lifetime with 253 home runs and 895 RBI. He wore #29 with the Cleveland Indians from 1977-87. In his 11 seasons with the Indians, he led the team in home runs seven times.
