Lot 210.  Autograph of Pilot Robert Morgan on a Scale Model of the “Memphis Belle.” The subject of at least two movies, the B-17 “Memphis Belle” Flying Fortress is perhaps the most famous U.S. aircraft of World War II. Part of the U.S. Eighth Air Force, the bomber became the first to completed 25 missions in Europe and then returned home to support the war. Morgan, who piloted the plane through the 25 missions, named it for his Memphis girl friend. He passed away in 2004. His signature in silver is a large, bold 10. The model has a 23” wing span and is 17” from nose to tail. Nm-m. Authenticate by Kevin Keating.

Lot 211.  Paul Tibbets Autograph on a Model of the B-29 “Enola Gay” Superfortress. Tibbets was at the controls of the plane when it dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945. His autograph on the plane’s left wing grades ex-m 6 to nm 7. The plane measures 16” from nose to tail and has a 22” wing span. Tibbets died in 2007. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 212.  Chuck Yeager Autograph on a Scale Model of His P-52 Mustang “Glamorous Glen III.” Bold gem mint 10 signature by the famous test pilot and World War II fighter ace on the right wing of the nm-m model plane, which has a wing span of about 18” and is about 14 ¼” from nose to tail. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 213.  B-25B Mitchell Bomber Model Signed by Jimmy Doolittle’s Co-Pilot, Richard E. Cole. Lt. Col. Doolittle led the April 18, 1942 bombing raid on Tokyo and other Japanese cities. It was the first major U.S. response to Pearl Harbor. Second lieutenant Cole was Doolittle’s co-pilot. Cole signed the right wing of the 1:48 scale model plane as R E Cole. His signature is a bold 9-10. The plane, apparently made of mahogany, is nm. It has a wing span of about 16” and measures about 13” from nose to tail. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
