Lot 10.  7 1896 Whitehead & Hoag American Pepsin Gum Pins of U.S. Presidents. Quality collection of these 7/8” black on white pins, including Monroe ex, Van Buren nm, Polk nm, Hayes ex-m, Arthur f, Grant nm-m and McKinley ex+. All but Arthur and McKinley have the paper inserts on the back.

Lot 255.  22 Arm & Hammer (Church & Dwight) Cards – Flowers, Birds, Fish and Animals. Eleven cards are from the circa 1888 J16 “Beautiful Flowers New Series.” Three are medium cards, #2, 34 and 41. Eight are large, #4, 12, 13, 19, 34, 38, 42 and 57. One large card, #29, is from the third series of “Useful Birds of America.” There is one 1900 J15 “Fish Series” card, #4. “Interesting Animals,” circa 1888 J10, are featured on two medium cards, #56 (2 cards) and three large, #33, 41 and 42. Finally, the group includes three “Useful Birds of America” Tenth Series cards, #7, 14 and 15. Nm-m: 1 card. Nm+: 2. Ex-m: 2. Vg to vg-ex: 6. G-vg: 1. F-g: 9. P-f: 1.

Lot 256.  64 Different Arm & Hammer (Church & Dwight) Bird Cards from 8 Series. Includes a “Useful Birds of America” complete Tenth Series of 15 cards, 25 of 30 cards from the Third Series and 14 of 15 cards from the Fifth Series. All cards are the larger size unless otherwise noted. 1. Apparently J1 #52, Downy Wood Pecker. 2-4. Apparently J8 “Useful Birds of America,” small cards, #1, 6 and 9. 5. J2 “Beautiful Birds,” #19, 1 3/8” x 2 11/16”. The following cards are “Useful Birds of America” from various series: 6-30. 1927 J7 Third Series, #1-10 and #16-30 from a series of 30. 31-44. 1928 J9-1 Fifth Series, #1-12, 14 and 15 from a series of 15. 45-48. 1933 J9-3 Seventh Series #5, 8, 13 and 15. 49. 1936 J9-4 Eighth Series #7. 50-64. 1938 J9-6 Tenth Series, complete, 15 cards. Lot 257.  2 1938 J9-6 “Useful Birds of America” Complete 10th Series – With, Without Front Numbers. Arm & Hammer (Church & Dwight) issued this 15-card series with numbers on the front and without. The 1 7/8” x 2 15/16” cards feature artwork by U.S. ornithologist and artist Louis Agassiz Fuertes on the front and information and advertising on the back. The set with numbers grades ex-m+ to nm+ overall, and the set without numbers is nm to nm-m.

Lot 258.  32 Different Coca-Cola “World of Nature” Cards from Various Series. These cards, which were issued with rounded corners, are variously listed as a 1930s and a 1950s issue. Cards from Series I Earth and Air and Sky are #2, 5, 8 and 11. Series II Man’s Closest Friends and Inveterate Enemies #4-6. Series III Trees and Other Plants #1, 4, 7 and 9-12. Series IV Some Common Wild Flowers #1, 2, 4, 7, 9 and 12. Series VI Native Wild Animals #2, 5 and 10. Series VII Life in…the Water, #1, 4, 6 and 7. Series VIII Insects #4 and 8-11. G to vg overall.

Lot 259.  1952 Topps Wings Set of 200. All but of eight cards have significant back damage, scrapbook residue or both. Generally, the fronts are very nice. Nm or better: 19 cards. Ex-m to ex-m+: 50. Ex to ex+: 27. Vg to vg-ex: 54. G to g-vg: 42. P to p-f: 8. Please keep in mind that the grades apply to the card fronts.

Lot 260.  23 1950s Non-Sport Cards – “Round-Up,” “Who-Z-At Star?” “Scoop,” Cars, Etc. All cards are from Topps. Eight represent the 1956 “Round-Up” set: #13 and 20, both from the Calamity Jane subset, 21 Buffalo Bill portrait, 31 (2) Wyatt Earp portrait, and 36 (2) and 39 from the Earp subset. Seven more are from the 1953 “Who-Z-At Star?” set, #3 Forest Tucker, 24, 51 Granger, 55 Garson, 63 Blyth, 69 The Nelsons and 71. Two cards the same are from the 1953 “World on Wheels” issue, #66 Jaguar (2). Finally, there are six 1954 “Scoop” cards, four low numbers and two high numbers: #66 (3), 75 “Dillinger Shot,” 128 “Jesse Owens Races Horse” g and 138. Cards not graded above are Ex+: 2 cards. Lot 261.  1956 Jets Partial Set – Cards 1-120. This 120-card first half of the set averages vg to vg-ex. Some cards are in better and others in lesser condition.

Lot 262.  1958 Oak Manufacturing (Premier Vending) Set of 42 “Bird” Cards. These 2 19/32” x 3 25/32” cards feature color photography on the front and descriptive gray backs. They were produced for sale in Premier card vendors, which we have offered in previous CCA auctions. This set ranges from the accord woodpecker to the yellow warbler and includes such birds as a very young golden eagle, a great blue heron, a hooded oriole, an Oregon junco, a screech owl and a white pelican. Nm to nm-m.
