New York Yankees Cards, Autographs and Memorabilia   32 Lots       »

Lot 4.  Mickey Mantle Boldly Signed 1951 New York Yankees Replica Jersey. Gem mint 10 autograph authenticated by Kevin Keating on a mint Cooperstown Collection home jersey by Mitchell & Ness of Philadelphia. The jersey has Mantle’s familiar “7” on the back and an American League Golden Anniversary patch on the left sleeve. The autograph and jersey display magnificently!
Winning Bid $1,433.

Lot 5.  Mickey Mantle Diamond-Studded Commemorative Career Ring. Produced by Balfour, this extremely attractive high-quality ring celebrates Mantle’s 536 home runs in a career that extended from 1951-68. Only 536 of these rings were produced; this example is engraved “105/536” inside the band. The face of the 10k gold ring has a blue stone as a backdrop to six diamonds that form a “7,” Mantle’s uniform number. The years of his first and last seasons are above the face, and his first and last name are beside it. One side of the ring has a raised facsimile autograph, an image of Yankee Stadium and the date Mantle’s uniform number was retired. The other features “536 Home Runs” and five bats marking Mantle’s career achievements, including his 1974 Hall of Fame induction and his 1956 Triple Crown. Mint, impressive ring that comes in the original wood presentation box! PLEASE NOTE: THE RING IS SIZE 11.
Winning Bid $1,909.

Lot 42.  Nm-M 1953 Topps Whitey Ford (HoF) #207. Pack-fresh card with strong colors and corners and front centering 60:40 or better. A nm-m beauty that almost certainly will find a new home inside a grading service’s slab.
Winning Bid $332.

Lot 44.  4 1954-55 Cards of Hall of Fame Catcher Yogi Berra. 1. 1954 Bowman #161. Technically, this card grades vg+ to ex, which simply does not do it justice. It is pack-fresh with sharp corners and strong centering – and a light surface wrinkle visible only on the front, a light print line and a black line on Berra’s cheek. You’ll find cards graded higher that don’t look nearly as good. 2. 1954 Red Man (without tab) #AL 20 ex-m. 3. 1954 Topps #50 ex. 4. 1955 Topps #198 ex+.
Winning Bid $204.

Lot 59.  Lou Gehrig Very Scarce 1973 Bob Laughlin Super Stand-Up Signed by the Artist. Printed in color on layered heavy paper, this die-cut figure of the Hall of Fame Yankee first baseman stands 10” tall and measures 7 ½” at its widest. Just above Gehrig’s right elbow, there is a small bubble in the paper. Otherwise, the figure is ex to ex+ with the standee on the back intact and unused. Also on the back is Laughlin’s large, bold signature. These stand-ups seldom turn up, and this is a quality example made all the more collectible by Laughlin’s autograph. Autograph authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $324.

Lot 60.  Joe DiMaggio Uncommon 1973 Bob Laughlin-Autographed Super Stand-Up. Possibly the scarcest of the Laughlin issues, these die-cut figures are infrequently offered. This stand-up of the Yankees’ Hall of Fame center fielder is printed on layered heavy paper and stands just over and is a maximum of 7” wide. It has a light surface crease behind DiMaggio’s left knee; otherwise, ex with some very minor soiling. The standee on the back is unused and rests to the right of Laughlin’s autograph, which is bold with a smudge on the first “L.” Seldom-seen and desirable DiMaggio, New York Yankees and “type” collectible. Autograph authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $242.

Lot 69.  1949 Bowman Phil Rizzuto #98 No Name of Front Graded NM 7 by PSA. Well centered with strong colors.
Winning Bid $198.

Lot 116.  Joe DiMaggio (HoF) Single-Signed OAL Bobby Brown Baseball. Mint 9 to gem mint 10 autograph on the sweet spot by the Yankees’ Hall of Fame center fielder. The nm ball has strong printed areas and some light, somewhat uneven discoloration behind the signature. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $264.

Lot 119.  Joe DiMaggio Autographed Gold Hall of Fame Plaque Postcard. Outstanding, bold fine-sharpie signature. A 10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research.
Winning Bid $125.

Lot 151.  Autographs of 25 World Champion 1961 N.Y. Yankees on an OAL Cronin Baseball. Signatures range from ex-m 6 to gem mint 10 and average nm 7 to nm-m 8 on this baseball, which once belonged to Yankees coach Wally Moses. Yogi Berra shares the sweet spot with a clubhouse autograph of Mickey Mantle. The north panel is signed by Bill Gardner, Joe DeMaestri, Tex Clevenger, Frank Crosetti, John Blanchard, Hal Reniff, Bud Daley and Clete Boyer, the south by Bill Skowron, Elston Howard, Bob Richardson, Whitey Ford and Roger Maris, the east by Jim Hegan, Luis Arroyo, Roland Sheldon, Bill Stafford, Hec Lopez, John Sain, Ralph Terry and Ralph Houk, and the west by Tony Kubek and Jim Coates. The autographs on the south panel – Skowron, Howard, Richardson, Ford and Maris, grade 7-8. The ball is nm to nm-m with some fading of the printed areas. These Yankees defeated Cincinnati in the World Series in five games. The ball comes with a 1989 Letter of Authenticity signed by Wally Moses. Authenticated also by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $636.

Lot 152.  OAL Cronin Baseball Signed by Mantle, Berra, 27 More 1964 New York Yankees. Clean, white nm-m ball with autographs by members of the 1964 A.L. Championship team. The signatures range from nm 7 to mint 9 and average 7-8. Mickey Mantle (nm 7) and Yogi Berra (nm 7 to nm-m 8) are on the sweet spot. The ball is signed also by Ralph Terry over the printed area, Stan Williams, Jim Bouton, Steve Hamilton, Jim Hegan, Jim Gleeson and Roger Maris on the north panel, Whitey Ford, Bob Richardson, Clete Boyer, Archie Moore, Paul Sheldon, John Blanchard and Pedro Ramos on the south, Tony Kubek, Al Downing, Hal Reniff, Pete Mikkelsen, Tom Tresh, Bill Stafford and Joe Pepitone on the east and Bud Daley, Spud Murray, Hec Lopez, Elston Howard, Pedro Gonzalez and Phil Linz on the west. (“Mark Fox” also is printed on this panel.) The Maris autograph is an 8. A quality example of a 1964 team ball! Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $291.

Lot 153.  Baseball Signed by Mantle, Maris, Rizzuto, Mize, Ford, Berra, Etc. OAL MacPhail baseball autographed by 18 one-time Yankees, as well as by Bob Feller and Al Rosen. Mickey Mantle (nm-m 8) occupies the sweet spot with a clubhouse signature of Joe DiMaggio. The other signatures, generally nm 7, are by Bill Skowron, Whitey Ford, Tom Gorman and Feller on the north panel, Yogi Berra, Charlie Keller, Phil Rizzuto, Bobby Brown, Ron Guidry, Irv Noren and Roger Maris on the south, Vic Raschi, Ed Lopat and Gene Woodling on the east, Al Rosen, Johnny Mize, Tom Henrich, Billy Martin (clubhouse signature) and Bob Lemon on the west, and Charlie Silvera above the pre-printed area. Apparently signed at an old-timers event, the ball is ex to ex-m with strong printed areas, one relatively large area of discoloration, and several smaller. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $198.

Lot 154.  Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle Autographs on an 8” x 10” B&W Photo. Bold, striking gem mint 10 signatures by the New York Yankees’ Hall of Fame center fielders. The photo, double-matted and framed to 12” x 15”, captures a very young Mickey. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $477.

Lot 155.  Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford Autographed 1979 Gateway Stamp Co. Envelopes. Postmarked June 12, 1979, these colorful “silk” cachet envelopes commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Each signature in ballpoint grades gem mint 10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $134.

Lot 156.  Peter Rubino Plaster Cast Bust of Babe Ruth. Dated 1991, this meticulously detailed sculpture is #132 of 2,000. Rubino is widely recognized for his sports sculptures and his instructional book The Portrait in Clay. His signature is engraved on the back of the bust, which is 10 ¼” tall and 5 ½” across. The bust is a fitting tribute to baseball’s greatest player. Mint bust centered to the right on the base, which has some inoffensive scuffs.
Minimum Bid $150.
