Lot 105.  Freddie Lindstrom Autograph on a Gold Plaque Hall of Fame Postcard. Bold signature in red, a 9-10 and one of the best autographs we’ve seen by Lindstrom on a plaque postcard. Authenticated by Kevin Keating. Linsdstrom make it to Cooperstown in 1976 as a third baseman after a 13-season, .311 career batting average with four N.L. teams, New York, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Brooklyn. He died in 1981. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research.

Lot 107.  10 Autographed Hall of Fame Gold Plaque Postcards. The signatures are predominantly 9s and 10s at the top of the cards by “Luke” Appling, Yogi Berra, Lou Boudreau (nm 7 to nm-m 8), Stanley Covaleski, Joe Cronin, Bob Feller, Billy Herman, Carl Hubbell, Judy Johnson and Rube Marquard. Seven of these HoF members are deceased. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research.

Lot 108.  Autograph of Dale Alexander - .331 Career Batter – Authenticated by PSA/DNA. Alexander was born four decades too soon. In four of his five major league seasons, he batted above .300, including .367 in 1932. He had a swing that produced 25 home runs in 1929. But as a first baseman, he was terrible in the field, and after 1933, he spent the rest of his baseball career in the minors. His major league career included seasons with the Tigers and Red Sox. He died in 1979. His signature on a lined index card is mint 9. Authenticated also by Kevin Keating.

Lot 109.  Ethan Allen PSA/DNA-Authenticated Autograph on an Unlined Index Card. A .300 hitter as an outfielder in 13 seasons with the Reds, Giants, Cards, Phils, Cubs and Browns, Allen is perhaps better known for his innovative 1930s tabletop baseball game. Producing realistic statistics, the game persisted into the 1950s. Allen also served as the N.L.’s motion picture director and wrote several books on baseball. He died in 1993. His autograph is a bold, unimprovable 10. Authenticated also by Kevin Keating.

Lot 110.  1945 Giants at Cubs Program Autographed by Phil Cavarretta. From 1934-53, Cavarretta played first base for the Cubs and then spent the final two years of his career with the White Sox. A .293 career hitter, he led the N.L. in batting in 1945 with a .355 average. His signature on the cover of the program grades mint 9 and has been authenticated by Kevin Keating. The ex 16-page program is neatly scored in pencil and has results of the May 30 doubleheader written on the front cover.

Lot 112.  Roger Peckinpaugh PSA/DNA-Authenticated Autograph. Peckinpaugh was the Yankees’ shortstop for nine seasons and helped to lead Washington to victory in the 1924 World Series. He died in 1977. Gem mint 10 autograph on an unlined index card. Authenticated also by Kevin Keating.

Lot 113.  Kerry Wood Autographed “Authentic Collection” 2003 All-Star Jersey. Mint jersey with a mint signature on the “4” on the jersey back. The black National League jersey has the 2003 All-Star Game logo on the left sleeve, and the Cubs logo on the right. Wood was N.L. Rookie of the Year in 1998 and made the All-Star team in 2003 and 2008. Letter of Authenticity from James Spence for PSA-DNA. Authenticated also by Kevin Keating.

Lot 115.  12 Autographed Baseball Cards – Gary Carter, Earl Weaver, Bob Boone, Etc. The signatures are 9s and 10s unless otherwise noted. Carter signed a self-published card that pictures him with the Expos on the front and presents some of his religious view on the back. Weaver’s signature is on a 1989-90 T&M Sports card, and Boone’s, on a 1989 Topps All Star card. Other T&M cards are signed by Rick Wise, Tippy Martinez (nm-m 8), Bert Campaneris and Clete Boyer. The other signers are Dave Tomlin (1975 Topps), Ron LeFlore (1990 Elite), John Matlack (ex 5 to ex-m 6, 1990 Elite), Milt Cuyler (1988 Star) and Marv Foley (1983 Donruss). Nine of the cards are at least nm, two vg-ex and one vg. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 116.  30 Signed Topps Cards, 1969-78 – Reggie Jackson, Jim Catfish Hunter, Others. Jackson (mint 9 signature) signed 1970T #140, and Hunter (gem mint 10), 1973 OPC #235. Hunter passed away in 1999. Lot 117.  Autographs of 1961 Chicago White Sox Players – on a Stuffed Lion. Apparently this lion was created to capture autographs. It succeeded in grabbing strong signatures, 9s and 10s, by Hall of Fame manager Al Lopez (died 2005), Herb Score (d. 2008), Mike Hershberger, Tony Cuccinello (d. 1995) and Roy Sievers. There are lighter signatures, vg 3 to ex 5, of Juan Pizzaro, J. C. Martin, Al Smith (d. 2002), Floyd Robinson and Joe Horlen. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
