Lot 274.  1954 Bowman “Power for Peace” Starter Set of 44 PSA-Graded EX-MT 6 or Better. All different, and almost half of the set. One card grades VG-EX 4, #77, and one EX 5, #69. PSA awarded a grade of EX-MT 6 to #2, 19, 20 and 74, and EX-MT+ 6.5 to #25, 48, 51, 55 and 56. Most of the cards are NM 7 ore better. The NM 7 examples are #17, 26, 34, 45, 46, 50, 52, 53, 57, 59, 60, 62, 70, 73, 87, 89 and 90. Two cards are NM+ 6.5, #65 and 96, and one is NM-MT 8 (OC), #10. Finally, 13 cards are NM-MT 8, #18, 23, 47, 58, 63, 64, 66, 67, 71, 72, 76, 86 and 92.

Lot 275.  1957 Barratt & Co. “Walt Disney Characters” Near Set of 41 – 20 PSA-Graded. Very-high-quality group form a set of 50. Of the 20 graded by PSA, 14 are MINT 9, 2 are NM-MT+ 8.5 and 4 are NM-MT 8. Among the PSA-graded cards are the Mad Hatter, Clarabelle Cow, Thumper, Flower, Jose Carioca, Lady and Mickey Mouse. The condition of the “raw” cards is similar to that of the graded cards. Mint: 7 cards, Nm-m+: 8. Nm-m: 5. Vg-ex: 1. This group includes Daisy Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Geppetto, Bambi, Dumbo, Chip and Dale. The missing cards are 6-8, 16, 41-43, 47 and 49. Quality, somewhat scarce set.

Lot 276.  1959 Fleer “Indian Trading Cards” High-Grade Starter Set of 24 Graded by PSA. Almost all of the cards are graded NM 7 or better. One is EX 5, two EX-MT 6, 13 NM7, two NM+ 7.5, one NM-MT 8 (OC) and five NM-MT 8. These cards constitute 30% of the 80-card set

Lot 277.  PSA-Graded Leaf Brands 1961 “Famous Discoveries and Adventures” Set of 50. Very-high-quality set composed of standard-sized gum cards with color artwork fronts and descriptive backs. PSA has graded a plurality of cards MINT 9, and almost all are NM-MT 8 or better. One card is graded EX-MT 6, one NM 7, one NM+ 7.5, 17 NM-MT 8, 11 NM-MT+ 8.5, one MINT 9 (OC) and 18 MINT 9. PSA has encased this set as a 1961 issue; some sources list 1962 as the year of issue. In any case, it is one fantastic set!

Lot 278.  1962 Topps “Civil War News” Near Set – 79 of 88 Cards. The premier issue of the 1960s, this near set has artwork that pays homage to “Horrors of War.” Missing #2, 4, 5, 10, 26, 40, 68, 73 and 88. These cards are like-new. Centering is the overwhelming determinant of the grades. Mint: 1 card. Nm-m: 4. Nm+: 7. Nm: 7. Ex-m to ex-m+: 21. Ex to ex+: 32. Vg-ex: 7.

Lot 279.  19 PSA-Graded 1966 Philadelphia Gum “Tarzan” Cards. Very-high-grade group, almost one-third of the set, all graded NM-MT 8 or better. PSA graded six cards MINT 9: #18, 22, 39, 40, 43 and 54. Six more earned a grade of NM-MT+ 8.5: #2, 5, 26, 42, 45 and 47. The remaining nine cards are NM-MT 8: #8, 17, 27, 33, 38, 41, 44, 51 and 62. In addition, #28 and 36 have been graded MINT 9 by GAI (Global). They are the first two examples of these cards graded by Global. A total of 21 “Tarzan” cards.
