Lot 218.  Early 1900s Oberlin College Oversized Baseball Pennant. This attractive pennant featuring a pitcher and the college name is 38” across excluding tassels and 13 ½” deep. Shows typical wear but no abuse. Ex.

Lot 219.  6 Philadelphia Phillies Full-Sized Pennants from the 1940s-70s. The least common offering shows a 1940s right-handed batter with his bat lowered at the left and “Philadelphia Phillies” to the right. White type and images on a blue field, very slight tip clip, ex to ex+. A 1960s example, white on black, shows a Pilgrim-like batter at the left and a baseball player to the right. The pennant has a small chip along the bottom at the right and a couple of pin holes in the vertical strip; otherwise, ex. Three pennants have the logo with a baseball orbiting a cap and say “Phillies.” A red on white example is ex, a white on red example fair with two holes, and a red and black on white pennant, vg with several small stains. A 1976 Philadelphia Bicentennial pennant shows Veterans Stadium and has logos for the Phillies and the Eagles. Ex-m+ to nm.

Lot 220.  Extremely Rare 1950 Baseball All-Star Game Full-Size Pennant. White and yellow text and graphics on a green field list members of the National and American League teams and depict Comiskey Park. Among the players listed on this 29” pennant without tassels are Stan Musial, Jackie Robinson, Ralph Kiner, Roy Campanella and Pee Wee Reese for the N.L. and Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto, Larry Berra, Ted Williams and Larry Doby for the A.L. Ex-m with two tack holes showing. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research, a non-profit membership organization open to all that fosters the research, preservation, and dissemination of the history and record of baseball.

Lot 221.  Extremely Rare 1951 Baseball All-Star Game Large Pennant. Beautiful, colorful 26 ½” pennant plus 3 ¾” of tassels showing Briggs Stadium and the seal of Detroit and listing players for the National and American Leagues. Ex-m with slight fraying at the tip and tack holes showing only on the tassels. The pennant is printed in yellow, red and light blue on a blue field. Among the players listed are Richie Ashburn, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Ralph Kiner, Stan Musial, Jackie Robinson, Enos Slaughter and Warren Spahn for the N.L. and Larry Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Larry Doby, Nelson Fox, George Kell, Bob Lemon and Ted Williams for the A.L. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research, a non-profit membership organization open to all that fosters the research, preservation, and dissemination of the history and record of baseball.

Lot 222.  Early 1950s All-Star Game Pennants for the National and American Leagues. Two pennants, each about 26 ½” long and ex-m to nm with very slight tip fraying and two tack holes in each. On a red field, one pennant says in white “National League All Stars” and, inside baseballs, “Phillies, Cinn., Cubs, Bums, Braves, Giants, Cards” and “Pitt.” The A.L. pennant is white on blue, and the teams listed are the “A’s, Yanks, Red Sox, Cleve., Wash., White Sox, Browns” and “Detroit.” Impressive display items.
