Lot 267.  Triple Crown Photo Group Signed by Ron Turcotte Riding “Secretariat.” Three photos show Turcotte riding Secretariat to victory in all three legs of the 1973 Triple Crown. In the most dramatic, Secretariat romps through the Derby stretch on his way to the fastest Derby win ever. The greatest of all racing thoroughbreds still holds a number of racing records. A head-on photo captures Turcotte and Secretariat in the Belmont Stakes. They won by more than 30 lengths. In the Preakness photo, Secretariat and Turcotte are in the lead, with Sham following behind. These 8” x 10” color photos are nm-m with Turcotte signatures that each grade 10. Lot 268.  Horse Racing 1933 Set of 50, 2 Partial Sets Plus a Bonus. John Player & Sons produced the complete set, “Derby and Grand National Winners.” Each card has a horse and rider in color on the front and a description of the horse and its victory on the back. British Derby winners are presented from 1908-32, and Grand National winners from 1907-32. Overall ex-m to nm. The partial sets: 1907 Ogden’s “Racehorses” Partial Set of 25 (of 50). Successful racehorses are pictured in color on the front, and their racing careers are described on the back. A complete set “books” for more than $200. Vg to vg-ex. 1925 Alexander Boguslavsky “Winners of the Turf” Partial Set, 4 Other Cards. Fifteen of the 25 cards in this set are present. They have color fronts and descriptive backs. The titles on the front are without serifs. Vg-ex to ex. Also: 1924 Cavanders “The Homeland Series, Real Photos,” Steeplechasing, vg-ex. 1927 “Jockeys and Owners’ Colors,” Stern, vg-ex. 1935 Pattreiouex “Sporting Events and Stars,” Steeplechasing – Reynoldstown, vg. 1937 Ardath “Photocards,” Prominent Steeplechasers – Argental, ex+. Also, as a bonus, a complete set: 1926 Carreras (Turf) “Horses and Hounds” Set of 20. These 3” x 2 ¾” cards have superb color artwork on the front and relatively detailed descriptions on the back.
