In the 1940s, as many as 40 million listeners a week heard the show, which featured stereotypical black characters created by Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll. Lot 369.  1940s “Art Portraits” Exhibit Set of 32 Blue-Tint Advertising Cards. Printed on thin paper stock and used to promote the set, these cards feature models wearing bikinis and more risqué attire. The promotional version of this set is very scarce. This is truly a high-grade set, with 15 cards nm-m, 6 nm, 7 ex-m, including 4 with moderate printing flaws, and 4 vg-ex.
