Lot 168.  “1964 Cleveland Browns Championship Team” Print Signed by 24 – 4 HoFers. The 1964 Browns posted a 10-3-1 record in the regular season and then defeated the heavily favored Baltimore Colts, 27-0, in the NFL Championship game. This 24” x 34” print by James Fiorentino celebrates the team’s success. Nm rolled print with signatures by Paul Wiggin, Jim Houston, Bob Gain, Dick Modzelewski, Jim Kanicki, Galen Fiss, Vince Costello, Bill Glass, Walter Beach, Leroy Kelly, Gary Collins, Frank Ryan, Jim Brown, Paul Warfield, Ernie Green, John Brewer, Larry Benz, Dick Schafrath, Monte Clark. This Jon Mahoney illustration appears to have been offered at an Aug. 10-11, 1991 event sponsored by the NFL Alumni Association South Bend Chapter. The exceptional illustration is signed by Don Maynard, Bob St. Clair, Art Donovan, Ollie Matson, Willie Wood, George Conner, Hugh McElhenny, Bobby Bell and Paul Hornung. The 21” x 27” print is professionally framed. Signatures range from ex-m 6 to gem mint 10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Eight autographs are by deceased HoF members. The photos are signed by: Morris “Red” Badgro, who scored the first NFL championship game TD in 1933. Otto Graham, the most successful QB in NFL history, personalized autograph, d. 2003. “Red” Grange, one of the first sports superstars, pers., d. 1991. Lou Groza, Cleveland Browns tackle and place kicker, pers., d. 2000. Lamar Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs owner, 5” x 7” photo, strong signature shows as nm 7 on a dark background, d. 2006. Don Hutson, Green Bay star, the NFL’s first great receiver, nm-m 8 signature, d. 1997. “Bulldog” Turner, top-notch offensive center and linebacker, six-time All Pro, d. 1998. Alex Wojciechowicz, great center and linebacker for the Lions and Eagles, pers., d. 1992. The other four: Sam Baugh, outstanding passer for the Washington Redskins, pin holes in corners of the photo. Lot 172.  Autographs of 7 Deceased Hall of Fame Players with Goal Line Art Cards. With one exception, the signatures are mint 9s and gem mint 10s on unlined index cards. One Goal Line art card is matted and framed with an index card signed by Ed. Healey. Two cards are matted with index cards: Earl “Dutch” Clark and Cal Hubbard. Hubbard, of course, is enshrined at both Canton and Cooperstown (as an umpire). Cliff Battles signed an “Immortal Roll” card that is matted with the Goal Line Art card; his signature grades nm 7. Buck Buchanan autographed a Pro Set card that is matted with the Goal Line Art card. The two other autographs are on unlined index cards that come with Goal Line cards: Bobby Layne and Mike Michalske. The Layne signature, in ballpoint, is especially nice. Lot 175.  1985 Football Hall of Fame Game Program Signed by 9 Enshrinees. The signatures are on or next to their photos and biographical sketches in the back of the program: “Red” Badgro (died 1998), George Connor (d. 2003), Lou Groza (d. 2000), Sam Huff, Dick Night Train Lane (d. 2002), George McAfee, George Musso (d. 2000), Pete Pihos and Bill Willis (d. 2007). Lot 176.  “Slinging Sammy” Baugh Signature on a 16” x 20” Black & White Photo. In the late 1930s and early 1940s, Baugh helped to revolution offensive football in the NFL by opening up the passing game. Over 16 seasons, he led the league in passing yards four times and in completion percentage, seven. While generally known for his passing, Baugh was actually a superb all-round athlete. In 1943, he led the NFL in passing, punting and interceptions. His signature is a bold 10 on a mint photo that shows him in action against the Packers. The photo is framed to 17” x 21”. Lot 177.  “Bullet Bill” Dudley Autograph on a 16” x 20” Black & White Photo. Dudley wasn’t big and he wasn’t fast, but he played well enough at halfback and defensive back to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1966. In his first NFL season with Pitts-burgh in 1942, he won the rushing title and Rookie of the Year honors. In 1946, he earned the MVP award by leading the NFL in rushing, punt returns and interceptions. His signature grades gem mint 10 on an nm-m photo in an 18” x 22” frame. Lot 178.  Autograph of Carl Eller, Hall of Fame Defensive End, on a Wilson Football. An All-Pro five times, Eller was part of the famous Purple People Eater defensive line that helped the Minnesota Vikings to make it to four Super Bowls. He was the NFL’s top defensive player in 1971. Eller was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2004. His huge bold gem mint signature in silver sharpie fills a full panel of the mint football. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Nm-m stated first edition from Rugged Land and the NFL accompanied by the DVD “The Legend of Broadway Joe.” The oversized book contains 320 pages of text and photos.
