Lot 475.  1951 World Series Polo Grounds Press Pass – Yankees v. Giants. The 1951 World Series, won by the Yankees over the Giants, was the first for Mickey Mantle and the last for Joe DiMaggio. The Roving Photographer press pass measures 3 ¼” x 4 ¾”, is hole-punched for Games 3, 4 and 5, displays some writing, is vg and scarce.

Lot 476.  1962 New York Yankees World Series Game 3 Ticket Stub. The Yankees defeated the San Francisco Giants in this game, 3-2, as Roger Maris drove in two runs and then scored what turned out to be the winning run. The original owner used this ticket to see Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays in World Series action. G-vg.

Lot 477.  Ticket Stub, Program for the 1974 All-Star Game in Pittsburgh. Steve Garvey was the MVP of this game, which the NL won, 7-2. The Field Box stub, which has two sections present, is ex to ex+ and free of creases. The program has Clemente, Mays, Williams, Kaline, Mantle, B. Robinson, Berra, Aaron and Musial on the cover. It is a second printing of the program, and it has a scored, printed version of the scorecard inside. Vg. Accompanying these items is a program for the 1994 All-Star Game in Pittsburgh. The ticket stub is the star of this All-Star package, and it’s a very nice one!

Lot 478.  1983 All-Star Game Program and Complete Unused Ticket. Playing at Comiskey Park, the American League won this 50th Anniversary edition of the All-Star Game, 13-3. Fred Lynn, the California Angels’ center fielder, struck the key blow, a grand slam home run in the third inning. The program is ex with a stubbed upper right corner. The A.L. and N.L. cards are intact and nm-m. The unused bleacher ticket is nm-m to mint.

Lot 479.  1944 Saint Louis Browns at Cardinals World Series Program “Scored” for Game 1. The World Series played entirely at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis opened with a pitcher’s duel between the Cards’ Mort Cooper and the Browns’ Denny Galehouse. In seven innings, Cooper yielded only two hits, but they resulted in two runs, enough for a Browns’ victory. Galehouse give up seven hits, but only one Cardinals’ runner scored. Newspaper clippings capturing details of the game are pasted over advertising inside this 36-page program. The clippings include the box score, a play-by-play account and a photo with the opposing pitchers. There are eight separate clippings. The program is ex, and the clippings give it a lot of character!

Lot 480.  1944 Saint Louis Browns at Cardinals World Series Program. Beautiful, clean ex+ program for the all-St. Louis showdown won by Stan Musial and the Cooper brothers. The 36-page oversized program has photos of the players from both teams. The inside pages are sharp and clean with a nm appearance, except for one that has a corner crease and a small edge tear. The cover has light creases in the lower left and shows light wear. Very nice copy.

Lot 481.  1945 Detroit at Chicago Cubs World Series Program Scored for Game 4! Hank Greenberg’s early discharge from the service proved advantageous to Detroit as the heavy-hitting outfielder led the Tigers to the World Championship in seven games. This 12-page program is neatly scored in pen for Game 4, which the Tigers won, 4-1. Dizzy Trout pitched a five-hit complete game for Detroit, allowing only one unearned run. Program displays nm. Inside, there is toning on three pages where a newspaper clipping must have spent years.

Lot 482.  1961 New York Yankees at Cincinnati Reds World Series Program. Beautiful ex-m+ to nm program that has a color photo of the Reds running across the front and back covers. There are some stress creases along the spine. The unscored 110-page program has photos and biographical sketches of players for each team, including young “Frankie” Robinson and Vada Pinson for Cincinnati and Whitey Ford, Bob Turley, Yogi Berra, Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle for New York. Fred Hutchinson and Ralph Houk were the opposing managers. The Yankees captured the World Championship in five games.

Lot 483.  1967 St. Louis Cardinals at Boston Red Sox World Series Program. Nm unscored 52-page program with light surface wear on the back cover. Players for each team are pictured with biographical sketches. Among them are Tony Conigliaro, Elston Howard, Jim Lonborg and Carl Yastrzemski for Boston and Lou Brock, Orlando Cepeda, Curt Flood, Bob Gibson, Tim McCarver, Roger Maris and Steve Carlton for St. Louis. Other Hall of Fame members pictured as executives or managers are Ted Williams, Tom Yawkey, Joe Cronin, Warren Giles, Walter O’Malley, Dick Williams, Bobby Doerr, Stan Musial and Red Schoendienst. Gibson was the Series MVP as the Cardinals ended the Red Sox’ “impossible dream” in seven games.

Lot 484.  1968 Detroit Tigers at St. Louis Cardinals Game 1 World Series Program. Nm program with the starting line-ups and batting averages neatly penned in, along with the results of the first inning. Bob Gibson out-pitched Denny McLain in this game. The Tigers won the World Championship in seven games. The 96-page program has color or b&w photos of the players and accompanying career information, including Carlton, McCarver, Cepeda, Flood, Maris and Brock for St. Louis and Lolich, Cash and Kaline for Detroit.

The 120-page program has a mix of color and b&w photos of the stars for each team – Mathews, Cash, Kaline, Lolich and McLain for the Tigers and Gibson, McCarver, Brock, Flood, Maris, Carlton and Cepeda for the Cardinals. Lot 486.  1969 Game 3 World Series Program - Baltimore at the “Miracle” New York Mets. Led be a pair of unlikely heroes, the Mets, the team virtually nobody expected to win, upset the powerful Orioles in five games. Jerry Koosman won two games for New York, and Donn Clendenon was the Series MVP. Except for Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan, pitchers who had not yet reached the prime of their careers, the Mets were a collection of castoffs and unknowns. The Orioles fielded three future Hall of Fame members – Frank and Brooks Robinsons and Jim Palmer, and had such stars as Boog Powell, Paul Blair and Mike Cuellar. The 52-page program is partially scored in pen. Players for both teams are pictured with brief career summaries. The center-spread is a color photo of the Mets. Vg+ program. Accompanying the program is a 33 1/3 rpm record album, The Miracle Mets, with narration by Lindsey Nelson, Ralph Kiner and Bob Murphy. Mint record in an ex-m jacket.

Lot 487.  1971 & 1980 World Series Programs: Pittsburgh at Baltimore, KC vs. Philadelphia. Roberto Clemente was the MVP of the 1971 World Series. The program is lightly scored in pencil for Game 7, which the Pirates won behind the four-hit pitching of Steve Blass. Clemente contributed a home run. Ex-m. The 1980 program is nm.

Lot 489.  Baseball All-Star Programs, 1974, 1981, 1982, FanFest Programs, Ticket Stubs. The programs are for the 1974 game in Pittsburgh (Clemente on the cover) g-vg, 1981 in Cleveland ex-m and 1982 in Montreal, six staple holes, otherwise ex-m. These programs feature such stars as Carew, Yaz, Kaline, Rose, Aaron, Garvey, Brett, Schmidt and Bench. The 1974 program contains a two-page tribute to Clemente. The FanFest programs are from Baltimore in 1993 and Pittsburgh in 1994, ex-m. There is a ticket stub from Montreal in 1982, g-vg, and a full ticket from Milwaukee in 2002, nm.
