Lot 594.  Roberto Clemente Photos, Drinking Glasses and Pin. There are two photos. The first is an outstanding 14” x 11” b&w photo of Clemente with Danny Murtaugh. Very slight inoffensive foxing near some of the outer edges. Ex-m. The second photo is 8 ½” x 11” in color and printed on a light paper stock. Vg-ex. There is a pair of “Clemente Classic” drinking glasses from Eat ’n Park Restaurants. Nm. Sponsored by Blockbuster, the 1990s pin commemorates Clemente’s 3,000th career hit. Mint in its original packaging.

Lot 595.  Pittsburgh Pirates, Roberto Clemente Books. For the Pittsburgh fan. 1974 first edition, Who Was Roberto: A Biography of Roberto Clemente by Phil Musick, ex+ book and dj. Few sportswriters have ever brought more talent to a keyboard than Musick. 1990 first edition, The Pittsburgh Pirates by Bob Smizik, ex-m book, dj. Nicely illustrated history.

Lot 596.  Negative, Photo of Roberto Clemente in a Montreal Royals Uniform. While Clemente was still playing in Puerto Rico, the Brooklyn Dodgers offered him a contract to play with the Montreal Royals, where he stayed until the Pittsburgh Pirates drafted him in Nov, 1954. This 2 3/8” x 3 3/8” negative shows a young Clemente in the Montreal uniform. A 6” x 8” print made from the negative is included. The image is also on a computer disc.

Highlights include two ticket stubs from the 1990 NLCS, Game 4 g and Game 5 f. Three full tickets to the 1991 NLCS, one each for Games 1, 6 and 7. Nm-m. Lot 598.  1970 Pittsburgh Pirates Scorebook Signed by Stargell, Oliver, Ellis, Veale, Others. Willie Stargell and Joe Gibbon signed the front cover. Gibbon signed again on the back, where he was joined by Dock Ellis, Bob Veale, Bob Robertson, Al Oliver, M Sanguillen and John Jeter. Vg scorebook for a game with St. Louis. The owner’s name is on the front, and another name on the back. The signatures on the back are nm 7s and nm-m 8s. The Stargell and Gibbon autographs are over type on the front and are ex.

Lot 599.  Aug. 17, 1985, Pittsburgh Pirates Lineup Card Signed by Chuck Tanner. This is the “Official Batter Order” sheet for the game, which the Pirates lost to the Mets, 4-3. Madlock, Scurry and Khalifa were in the lineup. Tanner signed “C. Tanner,” and his signature is a 10. The card has been folded into fourths, presumably to fit in Tanner’s pocket.

Lot 600.  Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Pitt Commemoratives 1971-2001. This collection celebrates the success of these teams at Three Rivers Stadium. 1. Aug. 7, 1987 program from the night that Bill Mazeroski’s #9 was retired, vg-ex. 2. 1976 scorebook with a covering honoring Maz for his home run as the Pirates’ “Most Memorable Moment” and Roberto Clemente as the team’s “Most Memorable Personality.” Ex+. 3. 1994 All-Star Game ballot. Unused and ex-m. 4. April 2001 On Deck magazine, PNC Park inaugural issue, nm. 5. 1979 World Series commemorative pin-back with the Pirates’ mascot on the front and the team’s four World Championships recognized on the back. Nm-m. The next six lots are commemorative Iron City beer cans. All have been opened. 6-7. 1971 and 1979 Pirates World Series Champs. 8-9. 1975 Super Steelers, some wear and paint loss. 1982 “50 Seasons,” nm. 10-11. Two 1980 cans marking Pitt’s football titles.
