 Lot 1. 1968 Original Wrestling Broadside Featuring Sammartio at Boston Garden. The May 11, 1968 match pitted Bruno Sammartino against the Kentucky Butcher. Based in Pittsburgh, Sammartino was a fan favorite. He is best known for being the longest-running champion of the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF). He held the title for more than 11 years over two different reigns. He also held the World Heavyweight Championship longer than any other wrestler. Virgil the Kentucky Butcher was John Quinn, a Canadian professional wrestler who competed in the WWWF. During 1968, he faced Sammartino on several occasions. At Boston Garden, Sammartino pinned Quinn after a backward flip press. The Boston Garden was a famous arena built in 1928. Designed by boxing promoter Tex Rickard, the arena was originally called the “Boston Madison Square Garden.” The arena was demolished in 1997, a few years after the completion of the FleetCenter. Two tag teams were also on the bill. The 17” x 26” poster is ex-m with mild shading from age at the edges. Silkscreen printed in black with red highlights, it will make a great display piece for your sports game-room.

 Lot 2. 1888 A16 Allen & Ginter World’s Champions Album Page with John L. Sullivan, along with three other pugilists: Charlie Mitchell, Jack McAuliffe and Jimmy Carney. The album is based on the N28 cards. Some staining near the bottom and top, two small creases visible only on the back near the lower right corner and a tiny bit of paper loss on Sullivan’s left arm. Vg to vg-ex with a tremendous appearance.

 Lot 6. 98 1910s-60s Baseball-Themed Ads Including Early Tuxedo, D&M, Life Savers. Five pre-1920s ads are among the highlights. Three are from Tuxedo Tobacco, including Mathewson in a 1913 ad (very clean and vg), and Walter Johnson in a 1914 ad, g-vg with edge chips. Other ads feature Johnson, Frisch, Joe DiMaggio, Dean, Mazeroski, Cobb (1940), Berra, Mantle (6 different), Gehrig (1935), Kaline, Mays, Ted Williams (3 different), and other HoF players. They average ex.

 Lot 7. 30 1921-24 Complete Mid-Week Pictorials with Ruth, Matty, Cobb, Other HoFers. Most pictorials have 24 pages in a tabloid format. Ruth is pictured in at least 13 issues; one shows him ice fishing. Other stars shown are Cobb, Mathewson, Walter Johnson, Mack, McGraw, Hornsby, Terry, George Kelly, Stengel and Jim Bottomley. In most cases, these issues are separated at the spine, and the paper is brittle with edge chips and tears. In most cases, the photos are unaffected, or only minimally affected. Some covers have pencil notations. The photos are suitable for framing and entertaining.

 Lot 9. 1940s-50s "Football" Gum Vending Machine by Multi-Vendor. When a penny was inserted this vintage vendor, it dispensed a gumball and allowed the purchaser to catapult the ball as many times as necessary to score a touchdown,field goal, conversion or safety. The vending machine is original and in good working order.

 Lot 10. 7 1935 Dixie Premiums + the Front and Back Covers! The seven performers are: Jackie Cooper, technically g-vg because the “5” was erased from the yellow border; otherwise, vg to vg+. Myrna Loy, very nice premium, vg because of a couple of ¼” or smaller edge tears. Ken Maynard, vg+ to ex. Dick Powell, vg-ex with an ex appearance. William Powell, technically vg+ to ex because of a paper wrinkle; displays as nm. Ginger Rogers, f-g with a small tear around a pin hole outside the image area. Norma Shearer, punch holes reinforced on the back; otherwise, vg+ to ex. The covers, titled My Scrapbook of Movie Stars, has light stress creases along the punch-hole edge of both covers, as well as two tiny areas of paper loss. Their appearance is ex+.
