Lot 259.  2 1888 A16 Allen & Ginter World’s Champions Album Pages with Billiards Players. Each page features four players as they are pictured on their 1888 Allen & Ginter N28 cards. Bits of staining that do not detract are found on each page. The first page, which has a few small inoffensive creases near two corners, has W.M. Sexton, Maurice Daly, Geo. F. Slosson and Jos. Dion. Vg-ex. The second page, which is free of creases, presents J.L. Malone, Albert Frey, Yank Adams and M. Vignauz. Ex.

Lot 260.  Both 1910 T218 Cards of Willie Hoppe, U.S. Carom Billiards Champion. These cards are from the Champion Athletes & Prizefighters set. Both cards are g-vg with very strong colors. Hoppe is in the Billiards Congress of America HoF.

Lot 261.  8 Early Stadium or Arena Postcards – New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Etc. Two pre-linen. The others are from the 1950s: Chicago Stadium, Cincinnati Garden, Cleveland Arena, the Arena in St. Louis, Madison Square Garden (2 different), Municipal Auditorium in Philadelphia and Atlantic City Auditorium. The pre-linen cards are: Madison Square Garden, area for writing at the bottom front, 1908 postmark, vg, ex appearance. And Atlantic City, numbered “141” with text at the bottom describing it as the “largest convention hall in the world.” Vg+. The other cards average ex+.

Lot 268.  Mid-1990s Collection of Soccer Stickers. 1. 1994 Panini “USA ‘94” World Cup” box of about 100 sticker packs. The box has been opened at the bottom. All packs appear to be present, and they are intact. 2. 1994 Merlin’s Premier League Sticker Collection packs. At least 75 packs, most of which appear to have come unglued at the seams. Unsearched. 3-4. 1995 Football Candy Sticks set of 48 cards from Trebor Massett of England featuring players from across Europe. Two sets, nm to nm-m.

Lot 270.  Circa 1940s-50s Children’s Lunchbox with Sports Illustrations. This metal lunchbox has illustrations of children playing baseball and football (in leather helmets), biking, sled riding and roller skating. Vg-ex. Nice display item.

Lot 271.  15 1922-24 Mid-Week Pictorials - Football Boxing, Olympics, Golf, Tennis Photos. Complete issues of the weekly New York Times tabloid, most with 24 pages. The Summer Olympics are the topic of two-page spreads in two 1924 issues. A related full-page photo shows Helen Wills, 1924 tennis gold medal winner. Two editions have football covers: Walter Taylor, NYU captain and Bill Mallory, Yale captain. An Army-Navy game photo occupies two pages. Boxing receives extensive coverage. There are four full pages on the upcoming Firpo-Dempsey bout and pictures of Greb, Johnny Wilson, Carpentier (full page), Leonard, Ciriqui and Willard. A 1924 issue has two pages on the U.S. Open Golf Tournament won by Cyril Walker. Elsewhere, photos capture Walter Hagen and Gene Sarazen. Track and field is represented by Charles Paddock in multiple photos. The Sept. 21, 1922 issue has a rare photo of an African-American athlete, Dehart Hubbard, a broad jumper from the U. of Michigan. Other interesting figures are Roald Amundsen, discoverer of the South Pole, and Mary Pickford. Most issues are separated at the spine, and the paper is brittle with edge chips and tears. Most photos are unaffected, or only minimally affected. Some covers have pencil notations.
