Lot 12.  1874 Harper’s Weekly Print of the “Maple Leaf Base-Ball Club” of Guelph, Canada. Colorized 6 ½” x 9” engraving of the team from Guelph has a ¾” tear in the upper left corner that has been reinforced on the back with tape. Otherwise, it is free of creases and other defects. From the Sept. 12 issue. Displays very nicely.

Lot 13.  6 H804-7C Gargling Oil 19th Century Trade Cards. “A close affair.” Slight paper loss on the back; otherwise ex+. “Bravo! The pet of the nine.” Two copies, one vg-ex and the other, vg-ex with the ad trimmed. “Something must be done.” Two, one g-vg and the other with the ad trimmed, otherwise vg-ex. “Struck out.”

Lot 14.  Early 1900s Currier & Ives “The American National Game of Base Ball” Linen. This 6” x 8 ¼” linen colorfully illustrates a scene from a 19th century base ball game. Apparently a cigar premium, it has a silk-like appearance. G-vg.

Lot 15.  Uncataloged 1906 Newspaper “Fanograph” Issue Featuring George W. Ramsey. Obscure issue from a July 10, 1906 newspaper, possibly the Boston Press. Labeled “Fanograph No. 15,” the issue is about 5 ¼” x 10 ¼”, has a cartoon image of Ramsey as a pitcher with a “B” on his jersey, and has a four-line poem below Ramsey’s image. The newspaper isn’t identified, but “on Press” shows at the top. Ramsey never played major league baseball. The newsprint issue is adhered to stiff cardboard and has an ex appearance. It’s a “type,” but exactly what type?!!

Lot 16.  1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel #2 Nick Maddox. This card was either cut short at the factory or trimmed left to right; it measures 1 /3/8” rather than the standard 1 ½”. It has moderate stains on the front and significant stains on the back. There are no major creases, and the colors are strong. P.

Lot 17.  3 1909-11 T206s Bliss, Cree, Donovan. The cards are Bliss g-vg, Cree g-vg and Donovan (throwing) f-g with an American Beauty back.

Lot 20.  5 1910-12 P2 Sweet Caporal Cigarette Baseball Pins Including HoFer Mathewson. Giants: Mathewson vg-ex, Wiltse g, Devlin ex. Phillies: Magee ex, Paskert ex. All but Paskert are small letters. Wiltse is missing his pinback and paper ad.

Lot 24.  Philadelphia “Athletics, Champions of the American League, 1930” Supplement. This 10” x 15” vg supplement to the Oct. 5, 1930 Philadelphia Inquirer is matted to 16” x 20”. Includes Cochrane, Foxx, Grove, Simmons, Collins and Mack.

Lot 25.  1933R305 Tattoo Orbit Card of Rogers Hornsby. Technically p-f due to creasing and a ¼” tear, this card has strong colors and is nicely centered.
