Football Arcade Games and Vending Machines   3 Lots

Lot 126.  Fabulous 1930s Coin-Operated Penny Arcade Kicker and Catcher Football Game. Behind a glass front panel, a colorful metal kicker and catcher, each clad in vintage 1930s football attire, await the insertion of 1 cent. A penny releases three metal balls to the kicker, who then punts them one by one in the direction of the catcher with the turn of a knob on the right front of the machine. Before reaching the catcher, each ball must travel through a maze of metal pegs. A challenging level of skill involved in turning the knob on the left front of the machine to position the catcher to grab the ball. This machine is original and, except for the scorer, is in good working order. It is 17 ½” high, 14” across, 8” deep and opens with a key provided. About 95% of the paint on both the kicker and catcher is present. An incredible game! CORRECTION MB IS $300.
Winning Bid $330.

Lot 127.  1940s-50s “Football” Gum Vending Machine by Multi-Vendor. When a customer inserted a penny into this vintage vendor, it dispensed a gumball and allowed the purchaser to play a game by catapulting the ball as many times as necessary in order to achieve a “Touchdown 6 points, Field Goal 3 points, Touchback 0 points, Conversion 1 point or Safety 2 points.” The gumball was then dispensed to the player through a metal corridor with a metal front flap. The vertical playing surface is circular, about 6” in diameter. Period graphics on the playing surface include players in vintage football attire and a “Football” identified with bold block letters. The vending machine is original and in good working order. It opens with the key provided. Extremely rare and equally desirable.
Minimum Bid $200.

Lot 128.  1950s Victor Vending Football Gum Machine. For 1 cent, this vintage vendor dispensed a gumball and allowed the purchaser to play a game by catapulting the ball to achieve a Touchdown, Field Goal or Off Side. The gumball was then dispensed to the player through a corridor with a metal front flap. The vertical playing surface is arched, about 6” in width and 6 ½” high. Period graphics on the playing surface include a football field and two players in action poses. This vending machine is original and in good working order. The case, 8 ½” wide x 8 ½” deep x 13 ¾” high, is made of wood, and the front is glass and steel. The machine shows use, but not abuse, with only a few small chips at the top of the left side panel and some inoffensive scratches and wear on metal portions. It opens with two keys provided. Obviously rare and very desirable.
Winning Bid $200.
