Lot 737.  1938 Useful Birds of America Complete Series 9 and 10 (3). Each series is complete at 15 cards, and there are three copies of Series 10. There also are 17 duplicates for Series 9, and 11 for Series 10. All of the cards come in their original glassine envelopes. They are the large versions and grade nm overall.

Lot 738.  64 1939 Exhibit Cards – Fortune Teller Type. There are 33 Ladies’ Cards and 31 Men’s Cards. Each card has a post card back and pictures a random selection of playing cards from a conventional deck on the front. Beneath the playing cards text offers observations to the person in possession of the card.

Lot 739.  Rare 1939 Heinz Modern Aviation Album Containing 14 F277-2 Famous Airplanes Cards. All 14 of the cards are pasted into the album in the space provided. They exhibit strong colors and have an ex-m appearance as pasted in. They represent over ½ of the set of 25. The cards in this set are scarce, and the album almost never turns up. It is pictured on page 75 of the number 2 Sports Americana Price Guide to the Non-Sports Cards published in 1983. Tuberculosis holiday stamps with period graphics from 1924, 27, 28, 33, 34, 35 and 36 are affixed to the inside front cover. The name and address of the album’s owner is neatly printed into the space provided on the inside. The album is ex+.

Three sets are represented. 1939 F277-1 Famous Airplanes: Bold, beautiful colors distinguish this set. #3 Sikorsky S-42, ex, 4 Kinner Monoplane, ex. 10 Lockheed Electra, vg+ to ex. 12 Waco Model D (2), vg-ex and ex+. 14 Kellett Autogiro, g-vg. 22 Bellanca Aircruiser, ½” x 1” stain, otherwise ex. 23 Amphibian Privateer, ½” x 1” stain, otherwise ex. 1939 F277-2 Famous Airplanes: Cards in this set share a checklist with F277-1, but the colors are strange, making the images appear as if they came from a 1930s strip-card set. #8 Stearman, ex. 1939-40 F277-4 Famous Aviators: #6 Tomlinson, vg-ex. 12 Jones, vg-ex. 24 June, vg+ to ex. These are among the most attractive airplane cards ever produced.

Lowney in conjunction with Cracker Jack, these 2 ½” x 3” cards, with rounded corners, feature fronts with colorful artwork and backs with technical specifications. Lot 743.  19 Different 1940s C271a Sweet Caporal Cigarettes “Aircraft Spotter Series” Cards. Each card contains three images of an Allied or Enemy airplane. Text encourages the reader to “Learn to Know Friend from Foe.” These cards were cut from packages, and their condition varies greatly, from f to ex. They average g-vg.

Lot 744.  1940s E. E. Fairchild “Squadron Insignia” Complete Card Game. The game is played with 34 Squadron cards and one Enemy card. The cards measure 2 ¼” x 3 ½.” A “How to Play” card is also included. Ex .

Lot 747.  High-Quality Collection of 8 1941 W.S. “Defending America” Cards. Card #204 is vg-ex. The others grade much higher. #228 is ex+, and 231, ex-m. Five others are at least nm: #206, and 225-228. Scare, especially in top condition.

Lot 748.  9 1948 Leaf Pirate Bubble Gum Pirate Cards. Six numbered cards include: 13-Ali Basha-g, 58-Edward Teach (Blackbeard)-p-f, 65-Capt. Banister-p-f, 80-Sir Henry Morgan-g, 101-John Derdrake-f-g, 112- Basil Ringrose-vg. Three unnumbered cards include: Captain Jackman-f, Dead Men Tell No Tales-f-g and Capt. Hirain Breaker-p-f. All cards show some glue stains on the back yet the bios are completely readable.

Lot 749.  1950s U.S. and Foreign Aircraft Recognition Study Cards – Complete Set of 54. These 2 ¼” x 3 ½” cards come with their original box, which is vg. The cards are nm-m. The front of each card features a black and white photo of a specific airplane. Side and bottom views of the plane are presented on the back. Countries whose planes are represented in the set are U.S.S.R., Great Brittan, U.S.A., France, Sweden and Canada.

Lot 751.  1950s-60s Brooke Bond Tea Cards: 15 African Wild Life and 44 Freshwater Fish. The cards are vg-ex overall. There are 11 different African Wild Life cards and 28 different Freshwater Fish. One of the most famous illustrators of these cards was Charles Tunnicliffe, an internationally acclaimed bird painter.
