Lot 643.  Ted Williams 1 ¼” Black and White Baseball Pin. The pin features a waist-up photo of Williams, bat in hand at the end of his swing. Text reads “Ted Williams” and “Boston Red Sox.” Clean front with some rust on the back. Ex.

Lot 644.  Unused 1950s Ted Williams “Moxie” Beverage Label. This nm label measures 3 5/8” x 5 1/8.” It was designed for use on a 1 Pint 10 Ounce bottle. Williams is featured full length batting in follow through position. Text reads “Ted Williams Says: ‘It’s My Favorite. Moxie Enjoy a Lift….The Healthful Way.”

Lot 645.  25 1968 St. Louis Cardinals National League Champs Pins. The 1968 NL Champs and the defending world champion Cardinals made it to the World Series in ’68 against the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers battled back winning the last 3 games of the series and were victorious. 1968 was the Year of the Pitcher, and two shining examples pitched for World Series teams. The St. Louis ace was Bob Gibson, who went 22-9 with a microscopic 1.12 ERA in the regular season. In Game 1, Bob Gibson set a single-game record with 17 strikeouts. The Tiger staff was led by Denny McLain, who at 31-6, became the first 30-game winner in Major League Baseball since Dizzy Dean won 30 games for St. Louis back in 1934. Seven pins are nm-m with the remainder averaging ex with some minor foxing. Oxidation on the back of the pins varies, generally minor. The pin backs are missing. Watch out eBayers, here they come.

Lot 646.  13 ¼” x 16 ¼” Dark Eyes Vodka Major League Baseball Standings Display. This clever display, designed for use in bars and clubs, consists of a 13 ½” x 16 ¼” board and a magnet representing each of 26 major league teams. The board has sections for the American and National Leagues and, within each league, eastern and western divisions. The team magnets can be arranged depending on how the various franchises are doing. Each magnet features the colors and logo of a given team. Ex.

Lot 647.  Folio of 28 First Day Covers - Ruth, Clemente, Thorpe, Olympics, Non-Sports, Etc. This beautifully bound folio from the Postal Commemorative Society contains 28 First Day of Issue Envelopes. Each envelope is protected and featured on an individual page with a written synopsis regarding the theme of the stamp it displays. Each envelope was postmarked on the date the stamp was issued. The collection includes 20-cent stamps of Babe Ruth, Jim Thorpe and Roberto Clemente. Among other noteworthy stamps are two that commemorate the Olympics and others that honor Presidents Washington, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson. Generally, these are 20-cent stamps issued in 1983 and 1984. Overall nm.

Lot 648.  64 First Day Covers Honoring Gehrig, Sitting Bull, Owens, Hemmingway, Etc. This interesting array of first day covers from 1989 and 1990 is in a beautiful folio from the Postal Commemorative Society. Each envelope is protected and featured on an individual page with a written synopsis regarding the theme of the stamp it displays. Each contains a postmark from the date the stamp was issued. Besides the 25-cent stamp of Lou Gehrig, other noteworthy stamps include Olympians (4) including Jesse Owens, the Olympic Games (6), Steamboats (5), Ernest Hemmingway, Sitting Bull, Prehistoric Animals (4) and President Dwight Eisenhower. Lot 649.  Commemorative Opening Day Ticket and Scorecard for Coors Field. A pair of interesting items for Colorado Rockies fans. The colorful, oversized ticket, which is encased in plastic, measures 12 ½”x 4” and is dated Friday, April 7, 1995, the official opening day of the ballpark. The scorecard is unscored and commemorates a pre-season exhibition series between the Rockies and the New York Yankees March 31-April 1, 1995. Ticket is mint, and scorecard is ex-m.

Lot 650.  13 Different Highland Mint Limited Edition Silver Baseball Player Medallions. Issued from 1994-99, these medallions each contain one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. Highland issued 5,000 of each medallion. Each comes in the original jeweler’s case with a Certificate of Authenticity. All are mint. The players are Roberto Alomar, Albert Belle, Wade Boggs, Jose Canseco, Jose Cruz, Jr., Cecil Fielder, Tony Gwynn, Hideki Irabu, Andruw Jones, Chipper Jones, Raul Mondesi, Ryne Sandberg, Mo Vaughn. Lot 651.  Highland Mint Gold Signature Series Medallions of Chipper Jones, Hideo Nomo. The Jones medallion was issued in 1996, and Nomo, in 1995. Each contains one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. Selective use of both gold and rhodium electroplating has been employed. Highland issued 1,500 of each medallion. Each comes in the original jeweler’s case with a Certificate of Authenticity. Both are mint.

Lot 652.  1982 “A Century of Baseball Cards” Calendar. This 14 ½” x 22” calendar is a beauty that was available through Mercedes-Benz of North America Inc. It colorfully and artfully illustrates a multitude of significant cards and issues: Old Judge, Allen & Ginter, T201, T202 T205, T206, T207, E cards, W cards, Goudeys, Diamond Stars, Topps and more. Some of the significant players include: Anson, Cobb, Wagner, Walter Johnson, Mathewson, Gehrig, Ruth, Mantle, Clemente, Mays and Aaron. Nm to nm-m.

Lot 653.  Dizzy Dean 1990 Dallas Hartland Statue with Original Box. In 1990 Hartland created six new statues. Dizzy Dean was among them. Although the run was supposed to be much larger, actual production of the Dean statue is believed to have been limited to 500. The statue comes in a type of box that has come to be known as “the green box.” It has a mural of Dean on the front panel. The Dean statue grades vg because of an inoffensive hairline crack on the back that runs the length of the uniform. The box is ex-m.

Lot 654.  Lou Gehrig 1990 Dallas Hartland Statue with Original Box. In 1990 Hartland created six new statues. Lou Gehrig was among them. Although the run was supposed to be much larger, actual production of the Gehrig statue is believed to have been limited to 500. The statue comes in a type of box that has come to be known as “the green box.” It has a mural of Gehrig on the front panel. The statue the bat and the mount are all MINT. The box is vg-ex to ex.

Lot 655.  Stan Musial 25th Anniversary Hartland Statue in the Original Box. Musial is one of 18 different 25th Anniversary Hartland Baseball Statues that were produced. The total production of the 18 statues is believed to be 9,700. The statue and its box are both ex-m. The bat is mint in its original packaging.
