The Yankees   19 Lots       »

Lot 7.  Joe DiMaggio Single-Signed OAL Budig Baseball with an LoA from PSA/DNA. Housed in a certified PSA/DNA cube, the ball holds a blue ballpoint 10 signature on the sweet spot. Jim Spence signed the Letter of Authenticity. Authenticated also by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $444.

Lot 21.  Original 1961 Mickey Mantle-Roger Maris AM Tube Radio by Stellar. Outstanding and scarce radio that still nicely transmits baseball games and other AM radio programming. If only it could re-capture broadcasts from Maris’ 61-home-run season! This fully functional radio features a ball player clad in Yankee pinstripes in a batting position on the faceplate, along with facsimile signatures of Mantle and Maris. The wood cabinet, which measures about 7” wide x 4” deep x 5 ¼” high, is ex. The radio is original except for the cord and the tuning knob, which have been replaced.
Winning Bid $587.

Lot 22.  Ron Stark 20” x 24” Color Print of Babe Ruth on Canvas. Stark has been described as the next Norman Rockwell. He is one of the premiere sports artists of our time. His rendering of Babe Ruth is simply incredible. If there is a better one out there, we have not seen it. Clad in Yankee pinstripes and cap, the Babe stands holding his bat against a dark brown background. The appearance is that of an original oil painting and not a print. His image is so lifelike that it seems to jump out of the canvas. The detail is exceptional and meticulous. The canvas print is housed in a 23 ½” x 27 ½” frame. Ron Stark has hand signed the print near the lower right corner.
Winning Bid $763.

Lot 23.  Unique, Large Babe Ruth Original Painting. “Unique” should be reserved for one-of-a-kind items, and this is it. You won’t find 45 more examples on EBay. In fact, you won’t find one more. The lampblack artwork came from a Syracuse company that used window shade material to create displays for special events. This black & white stylized painting, which is 3 feet eight inches by 4 feet, shows Ruth in pinstripes. The same image is painted on both sides. A couple of edge tears fail to detract from this dramatic art – or from its uniqueness. Be the only Ruth collector to own this type of item.
Winning Bid $100.

Lot 24.  Rare 1930s Lou Gehrig-Bill Dickey New York Yankees Glass Bank. Gehrig and Dickey’s names appear in red on the outside of the bank that is the size and shape of a regulation baseball. Virtually all of the red paint is present except for part of an “e” in “Yankees.” There is wear on the blue paint along the seems. Ex-m.
Minimum Bid $200.

Lot 25.  Babe 1948 Ruth Wrist Watch by Exact Time. This watch is real beauty! The image of Ruth, superimposed on a baseball diamond with his facsimile signature, is strong. The Swiss-made watch works intermittently. The crystal is free of scratches, and the brown leather band shows some wear. Ex-m.
Winning Bid $245.

Lot 26.  1960s All-Star Wrist Watch Featuring Mantle, Maris, Mays. This watch, made in Switzer-land, has a silver and red baseball on the face surrounded by a green circle. On the ball are the facsimile signatures of Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris and Willie Mays. The watch, which has a metal band, is in good working order. Crystal is free of scratches. Nm-m.
Winning Bid $168.

Lot 27.  OAL Ball Signed by the 1999 World Champion Yankees Including Jeter, Clemens. Twenty-two members of the New York Yankees, who swept the Atlanta Braves in the World Series, autographed this nm-m Budig baseball. Joining Derek Jeter and Roger Clemens in signing were Bernie Williams, Paul O’Neill, Chad Curtis, Scott Brosius, Orlando Hernandez, Tino Martinez and 14 others. The black ballpoint signatures are consistently 9s and 10s. Team-signed baseballs have become increasingly difficult to obtain. This is a very nice example. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $332.

Lot 28.  Reversed-Negative 16” x 20” Autographed Color Photo of Yogi Berra. Yogi is batting right-handed in this photo, and the catcher is a left-hander! Nm Steiner photo with a sharpie 10 signature. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $25.

Lot 29.  Mickey Mantle Certified Autograph on an 8” x 10” Display Page. A stronger authentication is hard to find. Notary Public Kathleen Hampton affixed her State of Texas seal to this 8” x 10” page. She states: “I certify that Mickey Mantle appeared before me this 24th, day of June 1986. The autograph appearing in the signature box above was personally signed by Mickey Mantle. Kathleen Hampton Notary Public, My Commission Expires 11-5-88.” The sheet contains a 2 ½” x 5” color photo of Mantle batting, as well as a large ¾” x 4 ½” autograph inside the signature box.” The sharpie autograph is a 10. The sheet also contains Mantle’s “Lifetime Statistics” and his “Major Achievements.” The sheet comes framed. Just to be absolutely certain, the autograph also is authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $138.

Lot 30.  Document Signed by Yankees Exec George M. Weiss, Authenticated by PSA/DNA. Red Smith said of Weiss: “He was incomparably the ablest baseball executive who ever lived, and perhaps the most self-effacing.” Weiss began his career in baseball in 1919 at the age of 24 by purchasing the Eastern League’s New Haven team. In 1929 he left for Baltimore of the International League and later accepted a job with the Yankees. He proceeded to build a strong farm system and subsequently held the job of Yankees’ general manager from 1947 to 1960. During his tenure, the Yankees won 10 pennants and seven World Series. In 1962, he became the first president of the New York Mets. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971 and died in 1972. In a document dated Oct. 13, 1942, Weiss appoints W. Haley Reed to vote his shares of stock in the Kansas City Baseball Club at the annual stockholders’ meeting. Weiss’ bold black ink signature is a gem mint 10. His signature is uncommon, especially on a document this early. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Minimum Bid $75.
