Lot 11.  Jack Nicklaus Signature on a Royal Bank of Scotland Five Pound Sterling Note. The U.S. has Washington, Lincoln, Hamilton, Jackson, Grant and others on currency. The Scots, who invented golf, have Jack Nicklaus, the greatest golfer pre-Tiger Woods, featured on the back of a 5 Pound Sterling Note from the Royal Bank of Scotland. Nicklaus signed atop his image, which shows him smiling and holding a trophy. His bold signature in black sharpie is a 10. AT CURRENT EXCHANGE RATES, THE FACE VALUE OF THIS NOTE IS $10. Lot 274.  Arnold Palmer Autograph Authenticated by GAI, Keating. Palmer’s signature is a mint 9 on this 8” x 10” lithograph. Upon close examination, faint yellow shadowing is visible around some of the sharpie signature. Certificate of Authenticity from Global Authentication, Inc. Authenticated also by Kevin Keating.

Lot 275.  Signed Handwritten Letter with a Humorous Golf Story from Hale Irwin. On a 5 ½” x 8 ½” sheet of paper headed “From The Desk Of - Hale Irwin” he writes: “After searching for only a moment for my ball, the gallery laughter indicated to me that something was not quite right. I soon was informed that my ball had lodged in a soft place – in a woman’s bra! I was admittedly embarrassed, but we all had a good laugh.” Irwin’s blue-ballpoint signature is a 10 that could be improved only - if it were written in embarrassment red. Lot 276.  July 10, 1978 SI Cover Signed by Nancy Lopez. Women golf’s Rookie of the Year in 1977, Lopez won nine tournaments in 1978 and was the tour’s leading money winner in 1978 and 1979. She won LPGA championships in 1978, 1985 and 1989. Cover only, vg+ to ex, with a bold sharpie 10 autograph. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 277.  15 Original 8”x10” Photos of Golfers – Arnold Palmer, Many from the 1940s. Eleven photos are black and white. The golfers are Sam Byrd, Harry Cooper, Bruce Crampton, Jim Foulis, Vic Ghezzi (1941 PGA champion), Don January, Ky Lafoon, Porky Oliver, Palmer, Henry Picard, Horton Smith, Jimmy Thompson and Bud Ward. The golfers in two photos are unidentified. Ex-m. A nice, unique group!
