Lot 17.  Outstanding Collection of 29 Basketball Hall of Fame Autographs. These autographs are mint 9s and gem mint 10s, and not personalized, on unlined 3” x 5” index cards unless otherwise noted. Some have sentiments such as “Good wishes” added. Players: Arizin, Barlow (1896-1983), Barry, Brennan (1900-89), Chamberlain (1936-99, hurried “Wilt” signature in red sharpie), Endacott (1902-77, on a small team photo), Foster (1906-96, H. E. “Bud” Foster), Gale (1907-96, Lauren “Laddie” Gale), Gola, Hagan, Howell, Kurland, Lucas, Macauley, Pollard (1922-93), Robertson (signed “Big O”), Schmidt (1911-86), J. A. Cat Thompson (1906-90, Hall of Fame 2 ½” x 6 ½” card with photo), West, Yardley. Lot 172.  1971-72 ABA Pittsburgh Condors Pennant, Pin, 1970-71 Schedule. Playing as the Pipers in 1967-68 and 1969-70, Pittsburgh was a charter member of the American Basketball Association. Based on a contest among Pittsburgh area residents, the owners renamed the team the Condors for the 1970-71 season. The Condor mascot is shown on the cover of a 1970-71 schedule. Ex. The team mascot and logo was redesigned for the 1971-72 season. The new logo is on a 2 ¼” pin with ribbons and basketball attached. F-g. A scarce 9” x 23” pennant also features the new logo design. Lot 173.  "Pistol Pete” Maravich Atlanta Hawks 1973-74 Replica Jersey. White with red trim. Number 44 on the front and back. Hawks on front and “Pistol” on back. The Mitchell & Ness jersey is officially licensed by the NBA and is considered rare. This jersey is size 44 and is very lightly soiled. Some new Mitchell & Ness replica jerseys sell for over $300.

Lot 174.  Julius Erving Autograph on a NY Nets 1975-76 Style Jersey. The star who took basketball above the rim signed “Dr. J” on the numeral “3” in his number “32” on the back of this Reebok Hardwood Classics jersey. Bold mint 9 signature. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 175.  Julius Erving Signed Upper Deck Fiorentino Collection Card. “Dr. J” signed this “Sixers” color 5”x7” card for our consignor at the Basketball Hall of Fame. The card comes with the “Discover Basketball” autograph ticket. The signature is a 10. Erving is known for his flamboyance on the court. James Fiorentino is one of the youngest artists inducted into the prestigious New York Society of illustrators. He has concentrated on celebrity portraits including many sports figures. Lot 176.  George Mikan Autograph on an 8” x 10” B & W Photo. Mikan revolutionized pro basketball as the game’s first big-man star. His bold signature is a 10 in blue sharpie. Below, he added “H.O.F. 1959.” Mikan died in 2005. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 177.  1958-59 New York Knicks Program Signed by 6 Players and a Coach. The signatures are on the front of this 31-page program from a game at Madison Square Garden. Vg-ex program. The signers are: Jerry Bird, Connie Simmons, Carl Braun, Frank Selvy, Nat Militzok, Bob Mullens and Joe Lapchick. Lapchick coached the Knicks until 1957. He then coached at St. John’s through 1965. The signatures are in blue ballpoint. The Militzok signature is a 6. The others are all 9-10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 179.  Harlem Globetrotters 1966 Yearbook Signed by Meadowlark (Lemon), 2 Others. The 30-page souvenir yearbook marks the Globetrotters’ 40th anniversary. Ex with the cover detached and some inside pages loose. Lemon signed as “Meadowlark” on the cover, and Mel Davis and Herb Ausbie signed next to their images inside. The signatures are 9s and 10s. Connie Hawkins is pictured as a member of the Globetrotters. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 180.  4 Autographed SI Issues with Basketball Covers – Perkins, Brown, Etc. The autograph of Sam Perkins is on the cover of the March 26, 1984 issue. Sharpie 10 signature. Cover only. Dale Brown signed the Nov. 18, 1985 SI. He was highly successful as LSU’s head coach for 25 seasons. Vg+ to ex magazine with a bold sharpie 10 signature. The Nov. 18, 1987 SI “College Basketball ’87-88” issue has the signature of Fennis Dembo, the first Wyoming athlete ever featured on an SI cover. He remains the university’s all-time leading scorer. He was a member of the 1989 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons. Cover only, ex-m+, sharpie 10 signature. Boston College’s Bill Curley signed the cover of the March 28, 1994 SI. Cover only, sharpie 10 signature. After college, he played in the NBA for Detroit, Golden State, Minnesota, Houston and Dallas. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 181.  2004-05 Chicago Bulls Yearbook Signed by Bob Love, Norm Van Lier. In the 1969-70 season, Love became a starter for the Bulls and averaged 21 points per game. The following two seasons, he averaged 25.2 and 25.8, respectively. Love retired in 1977 with career totals of 13,895 points and 4,653 rebounds. His #10 jersey was the second ever to be retired by the Bulls. In 1993 he returned to Chicago as the Bulls’ director of community relations. Van Lier played for the Bulls 1971-78; he retired in 1979 after scoring 8,770 points and recording 5,217 assists. Their signatures on the cover of this yearbook is a 10.
