Lot 221.  Gary Cooper Signed 1940 Check Framed with the Oct. 7, 1940, Life. Cowboy Cooper is on the cover of the Life issue, which is professionally matted and framed with the check to 15” x 23”. Lot 223.  Judy Garland Signed Check with “Over The Rainbow” Sheet Music. The check and sheet music have been professionally matted and framed to 14 ½” x 21”. The sheet music features a large photograph of Judy Garland. Inoffensive writing in the upper left corner of the sheet music that reads “25 A.” Dated June 18, 1963, the check is from the Beverly Hills National Bank. Garland’s signature is a 10. Lot 224.  Groucho Marx Signed Check and “A Night At The Opera” Sheet Music. Marx’ signature on the March 10, 1971, check is a 10. The check, from City National Bank of Beverly Hills, has been framed to 15 ½” x 23” with the sheet music for the song “Alone.” The coloful sheet music pictures the Marx Brothers with vocalists Allan Jones and Kitty Carlisle. Lot 225.  Signed 1973 Check from Moe Howard of the Three Stooges. A photo framed with the check shows Howard with two fellow Stooges. The resulting display is 14” x 16”. Howard placed his signature on a City National Bank of Beverly Hills check dated Aug. 12, 1973. The signature is a 10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 226.  Bid Up and See Mae West’s Signature on a Canceled Check. The check and a photo of the “Come up and see me” actress have been brought together in an 11” x 16” display that is matted and framed. The photo shows West in Paramount Picture’s “Klondike Lou.” Her signature is on a check, dated July 5, 1979, provided by the Hollywood office of United Calif- ornia Bank. The signature is a 10. Lot 227.  Time Covers Signed by Religious Leaders – Bishops Pike, Cushing, Kennedy, Etc. Covers only; they were folded for mailing. 1. Michael Ramsey, Archbishop of Canterbury, Aug. 16, 1963 issue, 9 of 10 signature. He signed “Michael Canterbury.” Archbishop from 1961-74, he was active in the ecumenical movement. He died in 1988. 2. Gerald Kennedy, May 8, 1964, personalized 9. Elected a Methodist bishop in 1948 at the age of 40, then the youngest bishop in church history, he became president of the Methodist’s Council of Bishops in 1960. He wrote a substantial number of religious books. 3. Richard Cardinal Cushing, Aug. 21, 1964, 10 of 10 signature. He was Archbishop of Boston and a close friend of President John F. Kennedy. He died in 1970. 4. James Pike, Nov. 11, 1966, mint 9. Charismatic and controversial American Episcopal Bishop who supported the Civil Rights movement. He died in 1969.
