 Lot 179. ONL Giamatti Baseball Signed on the Sweet Spot by Ted Kluszewski. Superb ballpoint signature personalized to “Bruce” on a nm-m ball. If not for a back injury, who knows what might have been? Kluszewski was strength personified. He made contact with regularity, and he hit with power. In 1956, he hurt his back in a clubhouse fight, and he wasn’t the same afterwards. The big first baseman finished his career with 279 home runs, 1028 runs batted in and a batting average of .298.  Lot 183. Book Pages Autographed by Berra, Sutton, Gooden, Strawberry, Raines, Etc. These 9 ½” x 9 ¾” pages feature outstanding photography. The signers are Yogi Berra, Julio Franco, Doc Gooden (2 different), Goose Gossage, Lou Piniella, Johnny Podres, Tim Raines, Darryl Strawberry, Don Sutton and Don Zimmer. The signatures are consistently at least nm-m 8. If you want signed images of these players, you’ll have a difficult time finding anything better than these 11 single-signed photos.  Lot 184. Autographed Copy of the Hustler’s Handbook by HoF Baseball Exec, Bill Veeck. A maverick and an innovator, Veeck was elected to Baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1991, five years after his death. In this 1965 first edition, he describes his experiences as an “outsider” operating major league franchises. The book is ex-m with a vg-ex dust jacket.  Lot 24. ONL Giles Ball Signed Twice(!) by Clemente + Stargell, Maz, 18 More 1965 Pirates. The ball itself is ex+. Roberto Clemente signed two different panels. Both signatures and those of Willie Stargell and Bill Mazeroski are vg-ex 4s. Signatures of Elroy Face and Harry Walker are both 8s. Other signatures Johnny Pesky, Don Cardwell, Ozzie Virgil, Frank Carpin, Jerry Lynch, Al McBean, Clyde King, Donn Clendennon, Bill Virdon, Gene Alley and six others.
