Dave Morehead Handwritten Letter Concerning His 1965 No-Hitter.
Lot 424. Dave Morehead Handwritten Letter Concerning His 1965 No-Hitter. At Fenway Park on Sept. 16, 1965, Boston’s Dave Morehead came within a walk of a perfect game as the Red Sox defeated Cleveland, 2-0. Because of the walk to Rocky Colavito, he had to settle for a no-hitter as he faced the minimum number of batters, 27. In a handwritten response on an 8 ½” x 11” unlined page dated June 4, 1983, Morehead wrote, “…I do recall who was the last batter I retired in my no-hitter. It was Vic Davaillo (sic), who came up as a pinch hitter.” The text and Morehead’s signature are 10s. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Minimum Bid $25.
