Lot 569.  Mark Spitz Autograph on the Sept. 11, 1972 Issue of Time. Spitz won seven gold medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Ex+ magazine with a 10 sharpie autograph. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 570.  8” x 10” Photos of Secretariat Autographed by Winning Jockey Ron Turcotte. The first photo shows Secretariat and Turcotte in the 1973 Belmont Stakes too far ahead to leave the competition in the dust. The second shows the winning duo before the Preakness at Pimlico. Turcotte rode Secretariat, generally regarded as the greatest thoroughbred ever, to the Triple Crown in 1973. The photos are nm and Turcotte’s autographs are 10s. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 571.  Assortment of Baseball, Football, Basketball Pennants. All are full-sized. 1. 1970 Baltimore Orioles team photo pennant. G-vg pennant with a nice ex-m photo. 2. 1970s New York Mets, mascot catching a ball flying out the stadium, f-g. 3. 1971 Dallas Cowboys “World Champions” photo pennant. F-g pennant, vg-ex photo with a punch hole outside the image area. 4. Harlem Globetrotters pennant, four tack holes, otherwise vg-ex.

Lot 572.  Programs, Ticket Stubs for the U.S. Open, Other Tennis Events. The U.S. Open programs are for: 1985, McEnroe cover, two copies, both nm+. 1988 ex-m. 1989 ex-m+. 1990 ex-m+. 1992, two copies, both nm+. Some have the daily event or “Draw” sheet. U.S. Open ticket stubs: 1982 (3), 1983 (3), 1984, 1985, 1987 (2), 1988, 1989 (2) and 1990 (2). Stubs were separated irregularly except for one from 1982, two from 1989 and one from 1990. Also, two nice stubs for the 1993 Bausch & Lomb Championships in Florida. Other programs: 1977 Virginia Slims vg-ex, and the 1975 Fireman’s Fund International, ex-m. Also offered: 1988 program from the “International Tennis Hall of Fame Gala,” ex. 1984 New York Times U.S. Open supplement, Jimmy Connors on the cover, ex-m+. An invitation to a 1992 40th birthday celebration for Connors, nm. 1993 “Tennis Guide” from Snibbe Publications, nm. More than 25 individual items.

Lot 573.  1988 International Tennis HoF Program Signed by Don Budge and Alex Olmedo. Guests at the Hall of Fame “Gala” in New York received this 56-page program, which marked the 50th anniversary of Budge’s Grand Slam triumph. His signature on the cover is 9-10 of 10 with a minor duplication on the “D” in Don. The Olmedo signature is a10. Olmedo was the first Latin American to win the Wimbledon men’s singles title. Budge died in 2000.

Lot 575.  Smarty Jones Poster, Derby Game, Horse Racing Lobby Card. The colorful 11” x 14” lobby card is from the 1948 Columbia motion picture “Racing Luck.” Technically g, better appearance. The Whitman “Kentucky Derby Racing Game” is from about 1956. Ex to ex-m game in a box that shows paper loss where a price tag was removed and otherwise is vg-ex. Two dramatic posters of “Smarty Jones: A Pennsylvania Champion” measure 2’ x 3’ and grade vg-ex.
