Lot 520.  Rocky Graziano “I Would Fight Anyone” Signature. Graziano placed a large 1 ½” x 4” signature on a 6” x 7 ½” sheet of paper and then added below, “I would fight anyone.” The signatures and notations are black ballpoint 10. A brawler, Graziano took the world middleweight title from Tony Zale in 1947, then lost it the following year. After he retired from boxing, he acted in commercials and movies, ran a pizza house and collected cash on the after-dinner circuit. Paul Newman portrayed Graziano in a book based on his life, “Somebody Up There Likes Me.” Graziano died in 1990. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 521.  16” x 20” B&W Photo of a Muhammad Ali-Ken Norton Fight Signed by Norton. In the first of their three bouts, two in 1973 and one in 1976, Norton broke Ali’s jaw and won a split decision. Ali was the split-decision winner in their second meeting, and he won a unanimous decision in 1976. Norton signed this ex vertical photo in sharpie, and the signature is a 10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 522.  Ringside Boxing Glove Autographed by 12. Red boxing glove signed by Carmen Basilio, Gene Fullmer, Emile Griffith, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Kevin Kelley, Christy Martin, referee Arthur Mercante, Ken Norton, Carlos Ortiz, Tracy Patterson and Aaron Pryor. The autographs are 10s in black sharpie. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 523.  Early 1940s Miniature Boxing Gloves Featuring Gus Lesnevich, Kid Chocolate. These plastic gloves, which have a silver finish, are larger than the “name” gloves that typically came out of gum machines. Each is about 1 ¼” x 5/8”, and each has a ring so that it could be used as a charm. The boxers’ names are on the back of the gloves, which remain in an unopened package from Holly House of California. Nm gloves. Lesnevich held the World Light-heavyweight title from 1941-48. Chocolate became Cuba’s first world champion in 1931 by capturing the junior lightweight crown. He retired in 1938. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 524.  1948 Poster of Boxing Champions. This 20 ½” x 28” black, white and orange poster pictures current and previous champions by division, including Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Willie Pep, Manuel Ortiz, Rocky Graziano, Ike Williams and Gus Lesnevich. Rolled, vg.

Lot 525.  Boxing Grab Bag: Photos, an Autobiography, Cards, Ring Magazines + a Press Kit. Rocky Marciano, Willie Pep, Tommy Farr, Henry Armstrong and the Louis-Baer and Dempsey-Willard fights are the subjects of seven 8” x 10” black & white photos. Ex; three have staple holes in the corners. The NBC network issued four of the photos. A photo postcard pictures Tony Canzoneri, vg+ to ex. Jack Dempsey tells his story in Dempsey, 1977 stated first British edition, ex-m book, vg-ex dj. Paddy DeMarco is featured on a boxing exhibit, ex+, and Fay Famechon on Topps Ringside card #79, vg+ to ex. Twelve Ring publications are offered – the Boxing Record of 1940 with Joe Louis on the cover, vg, and monthly issues from 1946, 1948, 1962 (3), 1963, 1968 and 1976 (4). They average vg+ to ex. Ali is on the cover of four. Mike Tyson, behind bars, graces the cover of a 1992 Boxing Illustrated. The press kit is for the 2001 Roy Jones Jr.-Derrick Harmon bout in Tampa. Jones successfully defended his light heavyweight title.

Lot 526.  Boxing Memorabilia, Hardback Books on Ali, Holmes + Foreman’s Cook Book. Two books are about Muhammad Ali: 1. Muhammad Ali Ringside, edited by John Miller, 1999 stated first edition, ex-m book, ex dj. 2. King of the World, David Remnick, 1998, owner’s name inside, vg-ex book, ex-m dj. 3. Against the Odds, Larry Holmes, 1998 first, nm book, ex+ dj. 4. George Foreman’s Big book of Grilling, Barbecue and Rotisserie, 2000 first, ex-m book, ex dj. Also, 5. Promotional 5 ½” x 7” flyer for the 1980 Ali- Holmes “Return of the Greatest” bout. Holmes knocked Ali out. Vg+ to ex. 6-13. Eight press kits for the 2003 Gatti-Ward fight. Ring magazine rated this bout its “fight of the year.”

Lot 527.  Rocky Marciano 1973 Jim Beam Collector’s Bottle. The front of the bottle features a sculpted likeness of Marciano protruding from a background made to look like a mountain, creating a Mt. Rushmore effect. The reverse presents “Rocky’s Record of Achievement,” a list of his fight results. A band in red, white, blue and gold around the front of the bottle in the shape of a belt reads “The World’s Only Undefeated Boxing Champion.” A boxing glove tops off the bottle. Nm.

Lot 528.  “Thrilla in Manilla” Promotional Postcard, Dempsey-Willard PC. In one of the most memorable bouts of all time, Muhammad Ali scored a 14th-round TKO over Joe Frazier to retain his world heavyweight title in the Philippines on Oct. 1, 1975. A black & white postcard promotes the fight, Sept. 30 U.S. time, on closed circuit tv. It bills the bout as “The Saga of Our Lifetime.” It includes drawings of Ali and Frazier. Nm. The Jack Dempsey-Jess Willard pc is from Dempsey’s restaurant in New York. Demsey knocked out Willard in 1919 to claim the heavyweight title. Ex+.

Lot 529.  Official Program for the 1999 Oscar De La Hoya vs. Felix Trinidad Fight. After dominating the early rounds, De La Hoya turned conservative, threw few punches and lost a close decision to Trinidad in this Sept. 18 event. The 74-page program, which features LeRoy Neiman cover artwork, is ex with a poster on holographic paper still intact inside.
