Lot 191.  19th Century A2 Allen & Ginter “American Indian Chiefs” Album. This album is extraordinarily colorful, beautiful and artistically pleasing. It depicts all 50 of the N2 American Indian Chiefs cards. The front cover is separated from the album and the back cover has a bit of paper loss, but the inner pages, which average ex, exhibit blazing brilliance. A wonderful 19th century piece.

Lot 192.  5 of 6 Early 1900s S66 “Indian Portraits” Large Silks. of Indians. Silks L-2 through L-4, L-6 and one other are here. Two have a “Tokio Cigarettes” designation. L-4 has been stitched, and one has frayed to the point where the number is missing. Overall, f-g, largely free of any easily noticeable stains and exhibiting strong colors.

Lot 193.  92 Early 1900s Tobacco Blankets. Several different types. B4 National Flags: 20 blankets, 10 different including color variations, each about 8 ½” x 10 ½” with emblems in the corners. Eight countries are represented, including the U.S., Japan and Cuba. 46 B8 Blankets - Six Flags with Coats of Arms: 46 blankets representing American (3 different designs), Germany, England and France. Each flag is about 8 ½” X 10 ½”. B6 National Flags: 25 flags, 17 different including color and design variation. B2 National Flag. This flag of Italy is about 10 ½” X 15 ½”. This group averages ex-m with some better, some less.

Lot 194.  81 Early 1900s Tobacco Blankets. Indian designs, butterflies and conventional rugs are featured in this collection. The rugs vary in size from about 2 ¼” x 3 ½” to about 6 ¾” x 9 ¼”. Note: Seven of the Indian blankets are decorated with swastika crosses. These blankets were created well before the rise of Hitler in Germany, and in Indian culture, this type of cross served as a good luck symbol. The blankets average ex-m.

Lot 195.  176 Early 1900s Cigarette Silks. Old Mill, Sovereign, Nebo, Tokio and Zira are some of the companies who issued the silks represented here. These silks depict Flowers, Fruits, Birds, Flags, Actresses, Butterflies, Animals, Queens, etc. Among them are some S40 silks with the National Flag, Song and Flower. There also is a Bathing Beach Girl and a Flag Girl of Switzerland from Zira. Canadian silks are included, such as SC1 Animal with Flag and SC10 Regimental Uniforms. The silks average vg.

Lot 197.  For The Birds!! 260 Vintage Bird Cards Including “Useful Birds” Complete Sets. Of the 260 cards, 202 are from Arm & Hammer “Useful Birds of America” series. Arm & Hammer issued these cards from1915-38. The 1922 J7 Third Series is complete at 30 cards. This is the small variety, which is ex-m+ (many better, a few less) and books for $115. The 1938 J9-6 Tenth Series is also complete. It consists of 15 cards and grades ex-m to nm. Accom- panying these sets are seven 1938 J9 Ninth Series that are almost complete. Card #14 is missing from each of these 15-card sets. All of these near sets come in their original envelopes, which primarily are glassine. These cards are exceptionally nice, averaging ex-m to nm. The remaining Arm & Hammer cards are the large version from Series 1-4, 7 and 8 and six small cards. They average vg-ex to ex. Fifty-two cards were issued in 1977 by the General Cigar Co. of Canada. Among them are 33 different cards from this 36-card set. These cards average vg. Also, 5 Quaker Pack-O-Ten Bird Cards and one exceptionally beautiful Patterson Candy Co. of Canada Blue Bird card. The Quaker cards grade ex-m, and the Patterson card, p-f.

Lot 198.  Arm & Hammer “Useful Birds of America” 1936 Eighth, 1938 Ninth, Tenth Series. Each series consists of 15 cards in the original glassine envelope. Designated J9-4, J9-5 and J9-6, respectively, in the American Card Catalog, these cards feature outstanding artwork by Louis Agassiz Fuertes. They book at $265, look and feel like new and grade nm.

Lot 199.  9 Sets - Arm & Hammer “Useful Birds of America” 1938 Ninth, Tenth Series. There are four sets of Ninth Series cards and five Tenth Series sets. Each series consists of 15 cards in the original glassine envelope. Designated J9-5 and J9-6, respectively, these cards feature outstanding artwork by Louis Agassiz Fuertes. They book at $55 per sets, look and feel like new and grade nm.

Lot 200.  33 1933-34 Kensitas Flowers Silks. These attractive floral silks are woven, rather than simply printed. They came inside a paper packet, and 32 are still housed there. Twenty silks are the larger variety from the 1933 Series of 60. One small silk is from this series. Eleven are the larger format from the 1934 Second Series of 40. Overall ex with some better, some less. These are some of the best silks produced.

Lot 201.  17 Different 1935-37 R60 “G-Men & Heroes Of The Law” Cards. These cards grade: Vg #2, 7, 16, 21, 32, 75, 112. G-vg #9, 19, 42. G #4, 279. F-g #8, 58, 91. F #89. P #20. Cards #4, 32, 42, 58, 75, 89, 91, 112 and 279 have the “Gum, Inc. 1936” copyright. This set is among the most popular of non-sport issues.

Lot 202.  1939 Player & Sons “Modern Naval Craft” Cards Mounted for Display. Twenty-five cards, half of the set, are mounted on an 11” x 22 ½” cardboard display designed to hold cards from Wills Cigarettes. The 25 cards, which are glued to the display, represent half of the set. Overall, the cards and display grade ex and constitute a very attractive display.

Lot 203.  1950s “Beach Bunnies” Pin-Up Set of 32 Exhibit Cards. Exhibit Supply’s swimsuit edition averages ex with some cards better and a few less.

Lot 205.  Empty Display Box for 1965 Philadelphia Gum “War Bulletin” Cards. This box once held 24 5-cent packs filled with cards capturing important events of World War II. The box is extremely nice. The only crease is on the lid flap, which normally is stowed inside the box. The box shows light soiling, and the bottom is stained. The areas that matter display beautifully. Includes two very nice wrappers.
