Lot 271.  Mark Spitz Autograph on the Sept. 11, 1972 Issue of Time. Spitz won seven gold medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Ex+ magazine with a 10 sharpie autograph. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 272.  Sept. 16, 1945 Life Autographed by Army’s Glenn Davis and Doc Blanchard. Together, they were known as the “Touchdown Twins,” and they won back-to-back Heisman Trophies. Blanchard, “Mr. Inside,” was named the nation’s top college player in 1945, and Davis, “Mr. Outside,” captured the award in 1946. They led Army to three consecutive national championships. Their coach, Red Blaik, called Blanchard “the quickest starter I ever saw” and Davis, “the greatest halfback I ever knew.” Davis died last year. This is one of the finest items you’re likely find signed by these two college Hall of Fame players. The magazine, without a label, is ex, and the autographs are 10s. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 273.  1947 Life Color Cover Signed by Notre Dame Heisman Winner Johnny Lujack. After starring for the Fighting Irish and winning the Heisman Trophy in 1947, Lujack played quarterback and defensive back for the Chicago Bears for four seasons. He signed the Sept. 29, 1947 issue of Life in blue sharpie, and his signature is a 10. He is in the College Hall of Fame. Prior to the 1950s, Life seldom printed color covers. This issue, without a label, is ex+. Auth- enticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 274.  1948 Life Color Cover Signed by SMU Heisman Trophy Winner Doak Walker. A member of both the Pro and College Halls of Fame, Walker led SMU to an unbeaten season in 1948 to earn the Heisman award. After college, he starred at halfback for Detroit. He died in 1998. Walker’s blue sharpie signature is on a rare color Life cover without a lable. Almost all of the magazine’s covers were printed in black & white in the 1940s. The issue is ex wo a labeland the signature is a large, beautiful 10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
