Lot 557.  8 1908 T51 Murad College Series Cards Including 5 Baseball. The colleges represented with baseball figures are Antioch (Series 126-150) vg with a stain on the back, Fordham (Series 1-25, Second Edition) vg+ to ex with a packing stamp on the back, Haverford (Series 101-125) vg+ to ex with minor stains on the back, University of Kentucky (Series 25-50, Second Edition) vg and Penn State (Series 1-25, Second Edition) vg. Lot 558.  1911 Philadelphia Athletics Partial Fold-Out PC, Original Envelope. Celebrating the Athletics’ 1910 World Championship, this postcard has been torn apart at the folds, and one of the two-player panels is missing. Panels present are: Barry-Baker vg-ex, Bender-Livingstone vg, Coombs-Thomas vg-ex, Davis-Collins ex, Lord-Strunk vg, McInnes-Krause vg, Morgan-Murphy vg-ex, Oldring-Hartsell vg, and Plank-Lapp vg-ex. The folder in which the panels were attached also is here; vg.

Lot 559.  3 1911 PC798-12 Postcards by Alfred James Dewey. Consisting of 12 cards, this is the classiest of the “comic” baseball pc sets. All three cards were issued as supplements to the Boston Sunday Post in 1911. #222-5, “A Single,” in the Post May 26, vg+ to ex. #222-6, “A Double Day,” May 21, g+ to vg. #222-9, “A Costly Error,” vg.

Three show homes of the Chicago Cubs, and the other two, the White Sox. 1. “Baseball Game, west side Ball Grounds, Chicago” from Franklin PC Co., No. 240, nice vg with rounded corners, no creases. 2. “National League Cubs’ Ball Park, Chicago,” Max Rigot Selling, No. 360, mailed in 1916, back message, nice vg with corner creases. 3. Wrigley Field exterior, chrome, ex-m. 4. “South Side Base Ball Park, Chicago,” Empire Art, Chicago, mailed in 1913, back message, nice vg, corner wear, no creases. 5. Comiskey Park, chrome, Cameo Greeting Cards, P1561, mailed in 1955, back message, ex.

Lot 561.  1919-21 W514 Strip Cards Featuring the Players Who Beat the Black Sox. With the aid of various Chicago White (Black) Sox players, the Cincinnati Reds captured the 1919 World Series. Long-time Chicago Cub Pat Moran managed the Reds. His card, #12 in this set, grades f-g. Among his players were #57 Max Rath g-vg, the team’s second baseman. #68 Jake Daubert g, first baseman. #86, Slim Sallee g, a pitcher who was 1-1 in the Series. And #108, Walter Reuther vg-ex, who won the opening game.

Lot 564.  4 Cards from 1935 Wheaties Series 1. The Dizzy Dean and Paul Dean cards are trimmed somewhat irregularly to about 4 7/8” x 5 3/8”. Crease-free; ex appearance as trimmed. For Pepper Martin and Joe Medwick, the outer part of the fancy frame is absent. Martin (batting) is about 5 ¾” x 6 3/8” and vg. The Medwick card, 5 13/16” x 6 5/16”, is bright with vibrant colors. Vg, scrapbook residue on the blank back.

Lot 565.  Sheet of 30 Stamps of the 1943 World Champion Yankees published in 1944 by the National Poster Stamp Society. The sheet has multiple tears along the perforations. Except for several top-row stamps, individual stamps are very clean, and produce many would grade nm or better.
